Is there any maintainence cost for ships? Is it possible to run out of money and then the ships degrade? Sorry, i'm typing this from work, so I can't really check my facts.. :) -J

I'm gonna bump my own friggin' post because i want a response on this. Even if it's "shut up, no, go away you steenking piece of rotten bat dung"
on a side note, anyone think those "congrats" icons look like Professor Dumbledore hitting the ye olde magic crack pipe?
Frogboy, I think(and you may have surmised this by now), that there are a number of cause and effect paradigms that aren't very clear to many of us. One example would be the various bonuses offered(manufacturing, production, social, etc..). And I think a big one would be the morale. Maybe if you could make a post clarifying what exactly affects morale(or maybe an amendment to the online manual?) Maybe it's obvious on a social, real life level what affects morale(and I think you guys deserve a LO
I've had the same problem. It always seems to happen in a subscreen. As soon as i click on the Galaxy view map, then i can click the "TURN" button
I was wondering what the benefit of "unique" trade goods was other than the benefit it provides to your own planet. It seems that by trading, say "aphrodisiac" spice, you're simply giving free benefits to other races. I mean, yes, you can just trade with your allies, but that seems to have a limited usage. And if you cut of a trade route, does that planet lose that benefit?(it seems the obvious answer would be yes, but..i dunno) Does having a unique trade item give any other bonuses? Li
So what's the difference between "production" and "manufacturing"?

Well, damn, my apologies to Stardock for complaining about the lack of a poster. I assumed you guys had a say in what materials were included. (assumed ='s ass out of u and me...but mostly me :) -J
I'm still not clear on planetary economics. I know i can improve economy therefore increasing revenue, but what do production and manufacturing do? I'm assuming one affects how fast you can build ships.. Any help here?
Oh, and one more thing. Are elections a totally random thing? Is it completely based on morale(which would make sense). It seems that with my morale always hovering around 50%(due to overpopulation = low morale issue) i randomly win or lose elections. Is there any way to satisfy most of the people most of the time? For example, I noticed that I was losing seats to the War Party. I didn't do anything and the next election they lost all of their seats to the Technologists. It's seemingly
No problem. I appreciate the comment. As far as the windowed version goes, I mean that I can't jave online tech tree open as well to alt-tab to. And since i don't have a printer that means i have to shut the game down and then go online to look for something. I don't think that should be the case. At the very least, there should be a more robust tech tree built into the research descriptions so i *know* right then and there what options i'll have in the future. -J
1. What is the difference between manufacturing and production? For instance, there are some social projects that double each of those, but, what effect to they have? I assume that one of them helps speed up ship construction and the like? Does one help with the economic production? 2. What are the best ways to improve the economic output of your individual planets? Is it simply the social projects that add +10 economy, etc..? 3. Still a bit confused about "Influence" and how t
I agree. The morale(spelled as moral on the galaxy view page if there are any spell checkers out there), seems always to be hovering at 50 percent. I've built them hospitals, soil converters, etc.. the little buggers are never happy. I've tried off loading civilians, but that is only a temporary fix. Maybe there should be a birth control mandate for a planet that you can choose.. -Jude
I understand that Stardock is a "smaller company" and so they have to deal with profit margins and the like, but in a game this complex that has such an interdependent tech tree, not including a visual poster of one really, REALLY hampers the game. And yes, i appreciate that Java Scout(you rock!) made the online version but that should not have had to happen(plus since the windowed version does not work on my computer, I can't really access it in a meaningful fashion). I'm *trying* to enjoy the
