Approval, who cares? in Galactic Civilizations II GalCiv2 Forums

Is there any point to having the approval for a colony be above 30 but below 100 before you have a government type? It seems you get (or should get, it seems like a bug in the campaign) a 100% population growth bonus for 100% approval, and population growth stoppage for less than 30, but besides that, is there any advantage to having a higher approval rating?

Maybe I just don't understand, but the manual states that colonies with 100% approval grow at .4 a turn instead of .2. It seems planets with 100% approval, and with 30% population increase bonus still increase at only .2 (at least in the campaign). Is this a bug?
