If people get permission from CCP, its not a problem. The Homeworld eve mod guys asked for permission and got it. Also CCP gave the Homeworld mod guys a set of guidelines to work in and also gave them High Quality Ship models. Thats some of of the most time consuming parts done for free. CCP will shut down mods that dont ask permission, since they are not following any guidelines. Ask first, get the guidelines then move forward within the guidelines so you dont make a eve mod t

Yea no worries - but insted of Slow/fast etc, just have a drag bar so we can change speed to crazy levels. I can see a amazing game out of a 10x slower research but 10x faster mineral game - more focus on smaller units and less quality units etc, while waiting for research to catch up. More Epic fights and someone with a 2nd capital ship suddenly becomes really scary! The game is great, just a simple drag bar is what we would like to see :)

I enjoy long games. Sometimes, depending on who I could play with, I might want a longer gang or perhaps a shorter (i.e 1-2 hour) game. So I was thinking, How would Stardock feel to change the resource and research meter from fast to a drag style bar that goes from 100x slower than normal to 100x faster? And the same for research? That would let players choose the pase that suits them. Perhaps some players might like fast resources and seriously slow researsh so they have lots

Simple fix to be honest. Change the resource speed option. From 10x slower to 10x faster. Let the players pick the resource speed. Even 50x either way. How will this fix? Simple. People dont have 14 hours to blast at every game on a unique stratagy that might not work. Thats why they make a blob and charge it, quiting if their blob dies. The game is artifically slow due to slow resources. More resources = players can gain confidence in fast resource maps to tr

I made a ingame map via designer and now want to use galaxy forge to touch it up a bit. Except I cannot find it anyware. I can find all other built in maps tough. Any advise?

Some maps have pirates. If you make your own map, you can remove pirates. Pirates add a lot to stratagy. They are good to keep econnomic player in the game. Lets face it, economic players wont have strong fleets, but they can bribe pirates to work for them. This means that the military tree and the ecomonic/industry tree are important. Pirates act as the "RTS" balance. Computer too strong? Well, pirates will act as a speed bump. Its a new concept to a RTS but SOASE pro
That's not possible to do, sorry.
Is auto-group possible? Saves me making an extra click, which, granted, is nothing anyway. Just saying it would be a nice thing to have. *hint hint*. Other than that, this is te best space game I have played since homeworld
normally speaking, i'm pretty sure all ships (except maybe colony?) all auto attack by default, and they 'normally' are set by default to automatically group into fleets (i've caught couple that weren't and had to set them myself) however you have to manually select control groups... even newly built ships set to rally on another ship with its own control group, argh argh argh... i'm not sure what you mean by auto-build though. Serials should match. Thats how they did it in the past. I think the serial is not in the box, rather it is in the recipt that comes with box. Also you can use e-mail to track serial back anytime from website so its a win win situation.
One copy of the game is good for 2 installs for LAN games, but if you and your friend want to play online, you'll need unique keys. It sounds from your post that the two machines are networked, so if you stick to LANing you'll be fine with one copy.
Thanks. yes the machines are networked and thanks for clarifying this for me.

As per title, I have pre-ordered a copy of sins of a solar empire. Very rarely, and by that I mean perhaps once every few months or so, I may want to play a 2 player with a friend and hence, install the game on a second machine I have at home and run a 2 player between them. I used to do this with some old blizzard games such as Starcraft, which had a spawn instalation option for this purpose. I thought it was a good marketing system as my friend end up buying Starcraft and every blizzard game s

It looks like the October game is.... World War II: Frontline Command Although it's just a place holder on Stardock right Is this the game that its developers refused to support as Stratagy First never paid them royalties? It sounds great that they are coming back to it again.</fo

Lots of info on the grapevine, such as them almost going bust, and not paying developers, hence causing them to almost go bust as well! I assume it is the typical Retailer screwing Publisher screwing Developer scenario again, but my question is if this is having any effect on SF games on TG?

The trouble is, a non-Violent solution will never work if the opponent see's you as less than human. It is sad that the 'radical' Israelies still beleive that Arabs are decended from the 'Love Child' of Abraham with a Whore, and that the Jews are decended from the 'Marrage' of Abraham. Their will never be peace as long as these attitudes exist. I mean, in 1940's Germany, what would non-Violent solutions to the evil death camps acheive?

Nobody has a problem waiting.... What is being asked by the original poster was an acknowlegment of what the game is/will be available. I.E if Stardock were to say "Game 'x' will be available on 12 Sept" or "Surprise Game available on 28th Sept" then nobody would have any problems with that. I am assuming that "Surprise Game available 30th Sept". Expect the worst and hope for the best <img src="http

Heh, I still have the original collectors edition on CD at home. Back then seing a star destroyer at SVGA was a sight to behold.... Though at later campaigns, it became obvious that Missile Boats were seriously overpowered. 1 Missile Boat could take out any number of Capital Ships assuming resupplys were requested. If cap ships had Point Defence, th

MOO3. If that did happen, then the Spider has become the Fly! 24 hours to go and my money is on Jaggered Alliance, Kohan or BaseGolf2 or something.

Stardock have a terrible habit of putting up games that I have just bought. ORB & D2(GOL,SOD,ROE). I was about to buy Celtic Kings but thankfully, put it off for a week...... and got it from Stardock. It is my luck that Games I end up purchasing games just over a week prior to them becoming available. Guess what I am buying today? Kohan! I bet you that Kohan will be made available for a simple reason - Build up the fanbase. D2 is a go

Hmm, I am on the Third Mission of Guardians of Light, having completed all the campaigns of all races Except Galleons return and ROE. One thing, Why can I shift click to get multiple Items out of a capitol in ROE but not in Gallaeons return? It is rather annoying having to manually drag over lots of heal potions one at a time. (I remember one map had 10 Potions, 10 Small potions and 10 Life in the capital!) I assume Galleons return is a lower
