Well, thank you everyone who posted here. I finally got updated. The hard way. It took a surprisingly short 6 hours to download 84MB at 56k dialup speeds and for some unknown reason, my ISP didn't cut me off. Sweet. Now to go test the bug fixes... There's not much point building wonders if everyone else can build them. juice99. I had that happen, I was building Galactic Stock Exchange, and one turn before I had it, A FREAKING MINOR RACE built it. My queue was empty. But two turns tlater

Hmm... thanks Ash. I could have sworn FrogBoy said it was fixed in 1.01a. But I could be wrong. Nice to see you here. I'm Orgull from the GoneGold Forum. I love your 'zealous' GalCiv posts over there Heh
Well, I've been downloading the update for an hour and it's at 8% complete. That's not too bad, only 9.5 more hours to go. I'm going to have to interrupt this and try again another time. -sigh- the game is sooo good, but the multiple wonders bug kills it. I just want the bugfix -snif-
Hi. I've followed all the instructions in the link for registering. Stardock central shows that I've got GalCiv 1.01 installed and that I can update to 1.01a. When I click update it tries to download 84 MEGS worth of crap! How do I find out how big the update is? How do I stop it from downloading the whole damn game? I paid retail for a reason. My ISP won't allow extended downloads and 84 MB would take me between 4 hours and two days depending on local traffic. Allow me to
Now that I think of it, I was doing great financially all game, and then I noticed my cash reserves turned yellow. I think that means you're taking a loss right? It was like that for maybe ten turns before I lost control of the Senate to the Mercantilists, just like you said Harry. So much to learn, but it so good!
Hmm, we were light years ahead in technology because I threw every bit of production and research into research improving techs. But I didn't think to check my approval rating. I'll have to remember that. Thanks
I've only been playing for a few hours. In my first game where I actually tried to do things (rather than just learn the game) I slowly lost control of the Senate. I was with the Technologists party, but the Merchants somehow got more seats than me and edged my party out. Thing is, how the heck do you influence the senate? How do you keep from having your party get voted out? Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
