Confusion on this site! I signed in several times but when trying to post, got thrown back to the Make New Account page. Tried to volunteer for the Beta, but screen said Error: no connection. From the new sample video, I'm back with my irritation at SC2 and 3. The ship looks like a bug, it is not easily controllable and jumps around. The characters are from Spongebob Squarepants. We're back in the 1980s. Among old games I think Starflight had the movement and planetary

Can't face choices. Good? Evil? Diplomacy? Strategy to me means you do your opponent before he does you. In chess, are opponents good, evil? They're opponents. Diplomacy? do you beg, bribe opponent not to take your piece? I don't understand. This is more Sims Online, relationship games. P.S. The manual says if you control 7/8 of sectors (your color), you win. I had 24 of 25 but no win(?). PPS The major civs can be set to Fool, but the minor Civs out of your control--Carinoids (adeno

Thanks for the thoughtful comments, people: thing is, I'm lazy, so I'm always going to set initial choices to whatever seems easier (though doesnt attract me that I have to set opponents at "fool" to play--makes me one too. insult the customer--no sale) I want the machine to make the choice for me. Some specific annoyances: in Moo1, size of game board was about 20 spaces (tiles?) in small size. Here, smallest is 48(?), twelve spaces per sector. A chess game 48x48 spaces? Did not like M

I'm still holding a torch for Moo(1)--random opponents, random tech, tactical battles, fast moving. Considering the limitations of the game, each game different. Here, I'm doing the same thing every time. I didn't like Civ2 or Alpha C; I'm not enthralled by long tech trees; and I don't care to win by loving everybody. Poor me. If only there were some intermediate genre between this and the twitch shooters with the stud heroes.

My Problem is not in the computer case but the monitor: does not say anywhere on the game box that 1024x768 is required. My old dependable monitor only does 800x600. Some games like Cossacks only opening menus require 1024--rest of game plays at lower res. Here, whole game is menus. No go. Borrowed a laptop temporarily but does not solve it.

Two problems/complaints--don't know which thread to use: Hardware requirements--box gives CPU minimum, manual even mentions running on sub-minimum--but no box mention that you need a monitor doing 1024x724 or so. Someone running a 300Mhz not likely to have such a monitor--I'm above that but still using my reliable 10 year old reconditioned, only does 800x600. In other SF games like Cossacks I get the menus pleated over, but the rest of the game looks fine. Borrowed another monitor,
