Just finished my second game, ever, and didn't have any problems with CTDs. I got my butt kicked but that is an entirely different story. I did experience some sound problems along the way in regards to certain cutscenes. It seemed like the sound was skipping during anomaly scenes as well as when other races contacted me to trade technology. I am running Sound Blaster Live Gamer with the current drivers and with Direct X 9.0a installed. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks.

I had one on my first game (ever) using the current version.

CTD on First Game Played in Galactic Civilizations I Stardock Forums

I have owned the game for a week now but have just found the time to play my first game. I went with a tiny galaxy in order to save time. At any rate, after about an hour of playing and everything looking rather good the game crashed to desktop. I am running the latest patched version. Has anybody else had this problem recently? Thanks.

Brad, You have addressed this issue beyond what could be expected. Everybody except this one particular person seems to understand the reality of the situation. Even the reviewer and his boss have stated their mistake and have promised a revised review. I wonder if Abe will complain to the reviewer that his second review is not correct since it wasn't his first impression? Either way, you should walk away now and not bother to suffice this one person who just doesn't seem to get it.

Good job Brad. It's nice to see such convictions from a developer. Not only were you able to pursue this particular issue but also your dedication to updating the game is beyond excellent. Thanks for a job well done. BTW, of the two individuals involved, Brad and the reviewer, I think it is quite clear who will still have a job once the smog lifts from this ordeal.

I noticed that 3 of the available mods only have 1 file each while 1 of the mods has a pcx file as well. Are the other 3 missing their appropriate pictures or are they already included somehow. Not really that important but I was just curious. Thanks again.

Has anyone had any experience with the downloads from the official site in regards to addons? So far they include: Event - Cryogenically Preserved Precursor Event - Dangerous Animals Event - Hostile Aliens Anomaly - Courage Technology - Smuggling Do these need to be installed separately or are they included in the patches? Are they worth bothering with? Are there others out there yet? Thanks.
