Just a note: I've submitted my email address on two seperate ocassions under the Sign Me Up tab and haven't had a confirmation email, which the system says I should get. Will these be sent out when Alpha Date is confirmed, or is there something funny with the system?
Have you checked your spam folder?

Using subspace to explore the rest of the Milky Way, finding other empires in other parts of the galaxy, and dealing with the situation post-Retribution The Lore page will probably be updated later

Contrariwise to a few recent posts, I feel like the adjacency bonuses actually remove choice by creating a situation in which you want to just find the most efficient way to build improvements on any given planet and planet-wide bonuses might serve better in that regard and require less micromanagement, which is already a goal.
Whats the big deal about hex? Is it better than squares?
Hexes are generally much better than squares for handling movement. The issue is diagonals. Squares have diagonals and it causes distance weirdness if diagonal moves are the same as straight moves. Hexes eliminate that entirely. Admittedly, it's a fairly minor concern and wasn't a problem in older 4x games, but in general I've found hex-based movement t

I liked the campaigns - or more specifically, the stories the campaigns were designed around. The campaigns were always a bit awkward to play and each mission could have some easily exploitable thing to make it easier or weird mechanics that would complicate everything. I spent a lot of time mucking around with the GC2 campaigns (and found the fix for Dread Lords Apocalypse mission not completing when the campaign was added to TA). GC3's campaigns work better I think, but overall I think movi

Hoping to be able to get involved in the Alpha. I was too poor to get in on the Founder's Program for 3, but I've been involved in betas for ToTA and Legendary Heroes. I had this recent urge to play lots of all three GalCivs and now this is coming out this soon. Looking forward to the next chapter in the story.

Mods have definitely been on for at least 17 hours now. :) Anyway, I should be able to copy MasterTechDefs and related files, edit them, and put them in those directories to see the changes? Or put files with just the changes there? Because none of them show up in the game at all and this was one of the first things I tried
Some of https://www.galciv3.com/article/504716/modstech-spatial-manipulation-hypergates-stellar-architect-are-gone-help-me will help. But in retribution there is no such thing as an Altarian tech tree. That tree is from pre crusade. You want to copy the file, be very, very careful to only change the one variable

Edit: Since virtually all the advice in response has been "You need to make sure you're doing the thing you were already doing that didn't work and prompted the post here" I think there's not much help to be had here Thanks to Old-Spider for answering one of my actual questions - much appreciated. I'm not doing that wrong but it still doesn't work.

Tried installing this, got error messages that 40 civilizations' ship style was incompatible and reassigned generic. Also only saw four modded races in the selection area when starting a game. Downloaded the version for 3.7, used 3.7 and tried the beta patch just in case. Selectable mod races: Clan Zoraster of Zrentak, Lythian Expanse, Jun-Jilar, and Minzari Communes. All of them are assigned the Terran ship style. This is the only mod I've installed.
