My method of securing Mining starbases, is to park a constructor there, make a ship capable of defeating the constructor, compell a civilization to goto war with the owner of the ship, or find an exsisting enemy of the civilization with the starbase, and gift the ship capable of destroying the starbase to the enemy, and 9/10 they destroy the starbase for me <IMG id=ImageResize_Image_5 src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/BigSmile.gif" onload=ImageResizer.cre

In Dark Avatar, I understand 1 of the ways to take over a mining resource, where another civilization has already built a starbase on it, is by destroying the starbase and then sending your own constructor onto the mining resource. However, this will lead to war being declared. Is there any other peaceful way to take over another civilization's mining recource/starbase without the need to fire any weapons?

First and most importantly, GalCiv2:DA is the best stretagy game. I'm a big fan of RTS such as Command & Conquer and have never really played turn-based strategy. However, GalCiv2:DA totally kept me infront of my laptop for hours! Now to the point.. I'm expriencing very slow download speeds when updating my DA, in between 1kb/s and 10kb/s. Perhaps I am from Asia, Singapore but i hope stardock can fix this problem.

I live in Asia, Singapore. The retail version isn't available here and have been thinking about getting Galciv 2 online but after reading this thread, looks like I've have to carry on my Loooong wait to get the retail version. Is it every gonna be published here in Asia?? It's a pity cause I'm sure it'll sell well. Why not make me your Asian sales/publishing manager??

Since its released on Feb 21, I've been waiting for this great software to be retailed here in Singapore. Unfortunately, I've yet to see Galciv 2 here in Asia. I know I can download the game via Stockdock but getting the game at US$44.90 is quite costly, considering the exchange rate. Does anyone have a solution for me?? Maybe the Galciv developers can help me out here?
