Hi all, new poster, long time GalCiv fan. I've been lurking the forums a lot and reading a lot of the gameplay discussions and generally been gobbling up every new scrap of news that comes out. At the moment however I want to bring up an issue that is tangentially related to gameplay itself. As the thread title suggests the issue is UI design when it comes to accommodating colorblind gamers. As you might guess, I am one of those gamers. This issue recently popped up again when Gearbox ann

I'd like suggest that the 'minor races' actually be made into 'minor' races. As it stands, in every game I have played some minor race has built the frictionless clothing and tri-strontium steel trade goods before I even have the chance of researching the neccesary techs to get those trade goods. On top of that in my current game I had to reload an auto-save because a stupid minor race built a wonder that I had been working on before I could finish it. I had to jump back and take out a lease to
I seem to recall reading in some thread that you could only achieve a cultural victory if you were not at war with anyone and that going to war would halt the timer. Something to keep in mind for future games or something to test if you really feel like it. Ian ~SDC~
I've been thinking while reading over this thread and I'm not entirely sure that the real heart of the problem has been identified. So let me state how I understand production to work and then someone can tell me I'm wrong. ;) As I understand it a planet has a limit on how much production it is capable of producing regardless of how much funding it is provided. For example, Planet Z can produce 10 military sheilds per month, and 11 social sheilds per month. Depending on how your percent
Found a bug with the quickbuilding social structures and the detail view of the planet with certain improvments. If you quickbuild the soil enhancement or the habitation improvement and change your production before allowing the month to roll over, you get the effect of the enhancement (ie, planet quality improves), but when you go into the detail view of the planet it does not list the structures as having been built. I haven't tried it with any other structures yet so I don't know if it happen
If this has been suggested already sorry for the repeat, but wadeing through 10 pages of posts to see if it's there isn't exactly my idea of a good time. ;) Also, if this feature already exists and I just missed it somehow please tell me so, but I haven't seen it yet. Anyway, what I would like to see is essentially a straight port of a diplomacy feature from Civ3. I'd like to be able to drop a tech (or star system, or unit, or money, or whatever) from the Civ I'm dealing with into t
