fedayeen: I tried uninstalling and reinstalling my copy a couple of times this afternoon using my update archives and the method posted above and had no problems. Have you tried uninstalling SDC, making sure both the SDC and Strategy First/GalCiv directories have been fully deleted, and then restarting the computer and reinstalling SDC so as to ensure any potentially troublesome SDC manager files (or any other temp files)have been removed? Possibly some relic from a previous installatio

1) Use the "Download and Archive" option and then burn the generated zip file (which should appear in the directory "Stardock/SDCentral/BACKUP") to CD. 2) Make sure SDC is installed on the drive you are intending to use (it doesn't need an internet connection). 3) Copy your archive file to the "BACKUP" folder in the SDC directory on the new drive. 4) Open SDC and choose "File>Archive>Restore Existing..." and you will get a list of available archives to install from.

Since updating to .49 I've been getting a crash to desktop 100% of the time when starting a new game or loading an old file (I've had no problems before).
