If you don't use Stardock, how do you post your scores to the Metaverse? V

Howdy! 1. No, you can't ask for an offer. But you can select a piece of tech you'd like to trade and then ask them for some amount of money. If the trade area in the middle lower part of the screen turns yellow, it is not an acceptable amount, and you can keep asking for less until it turns green and then trade for that amount. Note that the sliders in the trade amount area are reflected real time, so as you slide the amount up and down, the deal area will change colors. Also, remember t
Has anyone tested the whole repair-in-orbit vs repair-next-to-planet? I'll do a test tonight if no one has actually checked. Please don't post guesses, I'm looking for facts. V
Za H Do you know this through personal observation? How about the following examples: Same class, same morale, no starbases, one planet has twice the pop of the other. Same class, no starbases, same pop, one has moral of 50 and one has morale of 100 Thanks for the info. Your posts are among the ones I look forward to the most. You are giving us the info the game designers should be. V
Phaedyme - I would have thought that you stop getting the information updated as well, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Even though I lowered (and eventually eliminated) spending, the reports kept changing. If you think about it, this kind of makes sense. As Za H figured out, there are certain breakpoints to getting the various levels of spying: Low: 100 Medium: 300 High: 900 Advanced: 1800 (and despite what has been said in the unofficial FAQ, they are not related to
Za H - You're absolutely right! I just double checked your numbers, and they work out exactly right. Furthermore, once you achieve the breakpoint you can stop spending money entirely and still get the same great reports. If you don't spend anything then you may be opening yourself up to "espionage events". However, if you were only spending the money to get the accurate reports, just cancel that order of spies : ) V
I had a lot of trouble getting my economy to work out until I starting trading tech like a madman. You can work out very lucrative deals with other races for long periods of time (I like to go for 12 months myself). If you are careful (don't give military tech to your enemies), you can make enough money to out produce them. Remember, you can trade the exact same tech to a lot of different races, so although you are helping your enemies out, they are doing a lot more for you in return. Also,
Where did you read that ships repair faster in orbit? I've been wondering about that but haven't seen it happen in my games. V
Well, I've broken my planets down into High Quality and Low Quality planets. The Low Quality (< 18) get soil and hab enchancement right away. The others build manufacturing plants and research labs first. I've seen some posts of people who specialized planets into ship building or research planets (one builds ship foundry, etc. and the other builds all research buidlings). To be honest, since you can't adjust sliders by planet, I don't see how you can really specialize that much or what the
Howdy; I've played through a couple of games and have some questions on how the espionage model works. (Please note, these questions are about the spying slider, not the destablizing slider) 1. There are several levels of reports you can get on other races (low, medium, etc) depending on how much money you put into spying on them. It seems that you have to spend a certain amount on a particlar race, and once you have spent that amount, you get that level of report forever with no more
Auto retreat doesn't seem to do anything at all . . .
