I really hope the industry switches to the download model the same way stardock has. It just makes more sense. Any other software we use gets a lot of updates after release. Its just creates much better end product. Paradox is an anther example of a company where I buy any game they make just to support them. They patch until the game is totaly done. I agreee its frustrating to wait for patches some times. But I rather have a deep good game even if I have to do a little bit of the BETA testing.

Exactly my gripe. You have to trade to keep up with the AI. The AI trade and trade and then trade some more. When you realise you have to trade you become really good at it and its easy to get a lot of techs for free from other races. You then end up not having to chose between Laser or Missiles. You can just trade to get the one you did not research. So choice between techs just be

Good ideas all. I good system would consist of a combination of - Blueprint trading - Only Trade these with alliance. To offset Make tech cheaper if the following applies - Trade Routes to Party that have the tech - Good Relations with a Party that have the tech - The more Parties that have the tech. - How long time since the first time it was discovered. I really hope this can be done. As right now I dont val

I was messing around with the tech XML file. I am trying to figure out a good way to change the AIvalue on the techs to reduce the trading. One idea I had was to increase the value more between diffrent generations would make it harder to trade older techs for newer not sure if this helps. I moving universal translator to the end of the tech tree and disable diplomacy all togheter. But thats really not a good option. I cant think of any other ways to affect tech tradi

I vote for D, as people mentioned before Hearts of Iron II uses this and its much more logical and it eliminates the instant trade of tech to other races. If not D, either alliance trading or not trade at all. I think a combination choice between Friendly relations, Blueprint trading is the best way to go. I dont think they need to change the system just add these options for all the people that dont every race to be exactly the same in tech.

Options are the way to go.. Any or all of them that would be nice to have. These seem to be the easiest to logically implement. 1. No tech Trading Allowed. "Simple just disable tech trading" 2. Only Trading with your own Researched Techs "Flag techs so only can trade those that you researched" 3. Only trade when Alliance "Check for alliance before letting races trade in diplomacy" 4. Only get BluePrint when trading. This should apply to stealing techs

Agree totaly, I suggest a blueprint system.. Instead of getting the tech you get a blueprint which makes the research faster. That would stop the trade around thats going on. (You get one tech from one AI and then trade it to another for money of another tech).. * Diplomacy needs to be limited so can only happen every 4 weeks or something and there should be some kind of cost for the diplomacy, any action should cost a little bit of money for the person that initate the d

Thanks for a fun game. Some suggestion that would make it better. Slider per governor/planet 1. First I secound the Seperate sliders per planet. Combat 2. Other is Battle is a bit to quick. Maybe have a slider that you can use to set the combat speed. 3. A very cool thing would be to use a similar style as the Warlord game. Same combat as now but small battle screen with ship icons that duke it out. You see which ships are fighting and see who wins
