Again, it's a technologies list and not a "research" list. If some of the techs can be traded, fine :) . When I build grav acc, it gives me +2 speed. I try to avoid purchasing of social projects. I'd do it for soil enrichment and habitat improvement to early-boost poor planets though.

YES ! Also : add the ability to auto-send all ships produced in a system to a rally point. Late-game constructors management is THE weakness of the game.
I get your point for raising the priority of diplomacy and habitat. Of course, this list has to be adapted for each game and most of the time some of the techs can be traded with the AI (deflectors). I didn't include nano-electronics and sensors (so no Eye of the Universe). I put the emphasis on speed instead which helps your exploring a lot as well as many other things (trade, military). Embassy comes # 8 (after economic exchange which takes ages to build), so not very early and at

Here are my dream lists for Huge Maps and Early Game which have proven efficient for a few tough/painful games. Don't tell the AI. ;) And don't use that for small maps unless you want to get crushed early. Research 1. Communication theory 2. Universal translators (for banking) 3. Medical theory 4. Basic environment (habitat) 5. Diplomacy (republic) 6. Trade (trade !) 7. Propulsion theory 8. Cold fusion 9. Impulse drive (speed) 10. Prod
So where's the flag ? :)
OK, passons de #56 à #22 ! ;)
1. Fix the "technologies spamming" issue (technos should be sold for less if already known by others). 2. When a civ bribes you to make peace, you should not be allowed to declare war the next turn. Three suggestions : (a)make the senate vote unlikely (b)lower the relations with others (c)make it an "evil" act and adjust the rating accordingly. 3. Implement an "auto-scout" similar to "auto-survey". 4. A "find system by name" (including colonies and other stars).
I am playing 1.02.040 and the most important thing to improve is still the way the AI gives money for technos, trade goods or diplomatic agreements . For technos, it's easy, just look at old Sid Meier's Civ : pay less and less for a techno already known by more and more other civs. For diplomacy, I don't know, but playing with "normal AI" I was able to get 2000 BC/turn for 8 turns to make peace with the Altarian. His treasury ended down at -13000 BC. Please fix that !! NoNo
