I sort of imagined the AI would only research the diplomatic techs that suit its game temperment. For instance, if the AI's trait is that of an 'aggressor', then it would research just enough techs that allow it to enter a non-aggression treaty with a player -- while still prepairing to conduct an 'Operation Barbarossa' against him. Or perhaps, give the AI enough clout to influence a vote by pounding a shoe on their delegation's desk at some Genera

After looking up the specs on your rig -- seems the out-of-box configuration of an HP a820n only came with just 512 MB of memory. Assuming that still the case for you (as you didn't list any other system specs), then you might consider a memory upgrade by adding two 1 GB PC3200 DDR (184 pin) SDRAM DIMMS at an average cost of $50 (USD) per stick. Another consideration is that, while you can still find some high end PCI video cards, your HP a820n might not have a power supply capable of
The question then becomes, are carriers an efficient use of resources RELATIVE to other units (not to how much you have total). The answer, in my opinion, is no.
I stopped using the Aeria Drone Host with 1.04 and really haven't missed them. They always seemed to me as something of a liability being thin skinned and usually the main target of an AI fleet. Anyway, I agree that the return on investment for carriers
Haven't checked the credits -- but was Cari Begle involved with this expansion / sequel? If so, then seems a bit amusing to me that XPlay review (as read by Morgan Webb no less) used the word "fellers" at Stardock. So Cari, does that mean you're like some pretty bottle of scotch that should strip naked and slap me in the face? Signed, A total pig -- that sees a difference between words like "fellers" and "folks".

Ah yes, well I thought as much, but wasn't sure -- thanks for the confirmation. So then -- how does one go about posting enhancement requests in this forum?
Thanks for the suggestion -- I do appreciate it. However, what I was really wondering here is after I sort planets by class/population/approval and etc within the Colony Management screen -- where within that does it tell me the actual location of "Wardell 2"? Seems to me like I still need to search for that planet on the main galacy map. Bit of a bother that, but then I was wondering if I missed something there.
Wardell 2 -- lost in space
Anyone know how to determine a planet's location in the galaxy from within the Colony Management or Planet Details screen? The "Find" button there doesn't do anything and selecting the little green up arrow under the "mini map" just seems to be yet another exit screen option. In any event, if knee deep in the Colony Management screens -- how can I tell where the planet I just tweaked using the Colony Managemnt function is located without
I'm still a bit of a noob to this game -- but not to 4X gaming. From all that I've heard, the AI in this game never "cheats", and if so, then seems to me you were just out gamed here dude. In any event, you posted here your inital frustrations, and that understanable, but please consider posting instead an after action, or "lessons learn" report -- or at least summerize a "5 Why" study on how you lost that game to an honest AI -- making sure to include game settings. Anyway, I'm c
So far, I’ve been playing at the various "please don’t hurt me" levels as I discover my way around the game. Some where in that discover process, I seem to have developed a tendency to make incremental updates to ships (like upgrading from speed 1 to 2, or adding a range extension module) as soon as available. I certainly feel a need to do this with colony and constructor class ships as a means of rapid expansion – but just wondering if you all see the
