Lost connection to server in Ashes of the Singularity Stardock.net Forums

Hi everyone. Didnt think I would have to write here. Me and a friend bought Ashes of Singularity: Escalation and wanted to play multiplayer. When we try to host a game either of us the other one gets an error saying "Lost connection to server". We both have UPnP enabled, but have also tested with port forwarding and still gets the same result. We have tried to disable the windows firewall and that doesnt help either. Have anyone else experienced this issue? How
