I just got an email with the "From:" line saying, "eil-at-stardock.com". (The "at" is a representation of the @ sign so it would show in the thread.) It has an attachment that is titled "violence.zip". The body of the message says simply, "Do you have the bug too?" Hi All, I uploaded a screenshot today and it's listed on the site with the preview showing on the page, but when you click to enlarge it, you get one of those little white boxes with a red "x" like the image is missing. I sent the preview pic at full size and a zip file with it enclosed. Maybe I didn't need the zip file in the "Screenshots" section? Anyway, it's a timely one for Halloween so if someone can get me straight on it, I'd really appreciate it. Have a great night!

Hi, I uploaded a wall a few days ago and received an email from this site that it had been accepted. I went to check it out at the link the email provided and it was indeed there, but when I clicked on the preview pic to enlarge it, it went to the preview page but the pic was the same size as the library preview. Success! V. 1.94[b].007 is back after the Sys Restore and all the functions are working fine. I really, really, REALLY love what OD does, but it sure can get frustrating when something goes wrong with it. A few weeks ago it screwed up my ikernel. Hasn't done that again, but that was much scarier than this problem because Windows wouldn't even start. Was finally able to get to the "Last Good" option which restored the sys file. Well, I never could leave well enough alone. DX V. 1.94 was runnning fine on my system. Then I installed the 1.95 beta update. Now nothing works in DX. None of the shortcuts or menus do anything and they're all out of place to begin with. Problem is, I didn't see any way in SDC to restore the backup I made of 1.94 and CM won't allow me to do it from there, giving me a warning that SDC should be used and CM will now terminate. I can see the bars and objects but none of 'em do anything. All I want

I'm fairly new here, but I'm curious, why would anyone care if they had the highest d/l count? Are there prizes or money involved, or are the manipulators of the system so ego-driven that they can't resist running their numbers up? Either way, it's very surprising to me as I've seen nothing but pretty cool heads around here. Not to mention some outstanding artists, every one of which if I had a question they've been very responsive and helpful to this OD newbie. Hope you get it worked out T-Man.

Thanks werewolf, but does that mean I'm missing those updates or are the alerts just false starts? Ms. crissy14, I guess that's part of the problem. I have seen on the Stardock website that SC is still in beta I do believe. Doesn't really matter though because even if it was a full-on release I can't seem to download anything anyway. Am I missing something on their website where I can get updates that don't go through CM?

I keep getting messages that there is an update available for one thing or another in Component Tray. When I click on it a small window comes up saying what the update is and a button to say "OK." This morning it was "Windowblinds 4.00b" is what was there. I click "OK" and Component Manager comes up. I recently started having the same problem as Beninati describes. When I looked in on this thread and saw the suggestion to remove the winupdate, I figured it was worth a try. It is in my Add/Remove Programs list but when I hit "Remove" it gave me a warning message that DX and OD, among a couple of other listings, may not run right if I continued.
