Reply to Problems submitting to the Metaverse - anyone else having the same issue? in Galactic Civilizations I Stardock Forums

Add one more victim to the list. As of 5/5 I haven't been able to get a new game score into the Metaverse either. I tried again today with no luck. I sure wish that there were some sort of confirmation / error message that would come up after a game score has been submitted. As it is now, you have to rely on blind faith that it's getting in there, and we're finding out that it doesn't work all the time. ~SDC~

Certain random events and UN topics for vote should be flagged and not repeatable. I've had the UN Council pass the 25% trade tax to protect freighters 3 times in one game. I'm not positive, but I did notice a drop in revenue each time, so I think it keeps deducting the 25% each time as cumulative penalties. :notsure: ~SDC~

First off, I no longer have the save game for this, so I can't tell you what turn it was. I hadn't yet put my first Battle Cruiser into play yet, so it was still very early in the game. I honestly believe that after this event occurred, there was *no* possible way to win the game. That's my only grief really, how overbalance the scope of this event was to the game. Freya, I'm well aware that these are random events, and that they might help as well as hinder. My complaint is the drastic overkill that can be involved. After this event happened, nobody else (even combined) had a chance, period. You might as well just insert a random message that another race has won, game over. Either way, that's a rather hollow victory or defeat. It would be nicer if the random event bonuses had some sort of scaleable max / min range that progressed as the game advanced

In my most recent game rather early on, just as the very first Battle Cruisers were comming onto the scene, a random event handed the Drengin race 86 Battle Cruisers. This was an incredibly huge shift in the balance of power, as most races had only a handful of simple ships in their fleet. I love the chaos factor that those random events provide, but I don't like something as overballanced as this occuring. Is this intended? :notsure: ~SDC~

I like the idea of recapturing most of these wasted resources. I'm all for keeping it as simple as possible, however. I'd like to see option B selected, as it also has some precidence being found in the OS/2 version of the game. ~SDC~

Ok, evidently I did have to plug in my CD Key / serial number for registration in yet again here at Stardock Central before it would let me see the latest patches. Here's hoping that the crashing problem will diminish or dissapear! ~SDC~

I've got a retail installation with the bonus pack installed. I'm only showing version 1.01 installed with no option to upgrade or update to the newer 1.02. I've tried refreshing the data and have turned show alpha / beta code off and on with no effect. I'd love to get the latest fixes. A quick question, is the CD Key on the retail CD case the same thing as the product serial number? I've keyed that in already at my first installation, but Stardock Central doesn't seem to have my s
