I believe in last week's webcast they said there was a bug in pirate code will now build ships like they supposed to. Pirates are like barbarians in Civilization so you don't just send unarmed colonizators and constructors every where so creates challenge to expansion early on. But you are free to turn them off generally bothers every race equally.

Thanks I wasn't sure I had Opt-in #2 since the Exe date was one day before the new update information was posted.
Anyone know what is changed by 1.3 Opt-in 2 - my GC3.exe still says 1.3.0.10. Which maybe the beta is not updating to Opt-in # 2. Following this procedure did not fix the beta update process for me - having steam not updating the betas has occurred before so I am wondering if it is happening again ?? https://forums.galciv3.com/469920/page/1/#3578948
For the Altair's - how are the moral buildings supposed to progress ?? With Xeno Commerce you get Entertainment Centers (+2 morale) when you research Enjoyment you get Healing Pools (+3 Moral) but appear to be totally separate line of colony buildings from entertainment centers. Then when you research Interstellar Tourism - Stadiums should unlock with +6 moral but since you can't research Entertainment Networks (there is no Xeno Entertainment for Altairs) you can't build sta
Agreed !!! Great Job guys
most of the editable game setting XML files are located in your game folder under ..\data\data subdirectory You can change the number of planets generated per galaxy size in MapSetupDefs.xml for references see: https://forums.galciv3.com/466009/page/1/ There is a initial planet setup file PlanetDef.xml that allows you to change the initial size of various starting planets
Generally I like the direction the game development is going but one of the changes early on might still need to be modified again unless I am missing something. In Beta 6 patch the Large Empire Penalty was changed from a flat penalty per planet to a percentage. Since that happened I tend to focus on playing races with the Patriotic race ability to avoid having to deal with it. It is a fairly common theme in 4X games to insist on some kind of penalty like this. I rea
Hello - I not seen it asked here yet - I had assumed there was some typo in the XML files but I can't find any at least in improvements.xls - when you unlock the last option in the motivational chain of the Malevolent Ideology tree there is a mention of unlocking the Planetary Culling Project - but I yet to see what they does ? It might be something yet over from Beta in the text of this perk or a future idea - the 25% production perf is pretty good in itself but I have always been
[quote who="Frogboy" reply="25" id="3556337"] Quoting Larsenex, reply 7 Expect the patches to be a bit further apart and beefier as Paul is now pretty much limited to himself as his team has been (redistributed) to other areas in the office to work on other projects like Sorcerer King, Ashes, Off-word Trading Co, and Servo. <br /
Also may want to check if you have power saving turned on that changes the processor speed to reduce power consumption - you will want high performance power setting when running the game and make sure that the steam executable runs as administrator and won't hurt to find the game executable and set it up to run as administrator under wins 8.1. I also run the game on an older MSI Laptop gaming laptop with only 8 gigabytes of RAM with slightly older video card and it runs just fine a
When playing a custom Terra Race last night I got the 30% reduction in transport module size specializarion (after interstellar travel) so I could make triple module constructors when I got the third Pragmatic Idea that new starbases get an extra module - for every new starbase - economic or mining - I was getting three available modules instead of two that I expected. This would seem to be a bug. Also something else occurred to me when playing last night - what h
I am told that is because you probably have your Steam Settings to allow cloud synchronization. Due to some game save issues I believe GC3 doesn't have it turned on at moment till some issues syncing cloud saves got fixed. What you getting is Steam mindlessly sync the files you delete each time you prepare to load the game. When the files are deleted on your computer they are not being deleted in the Steams Cloud Storage till GC3 resumes support for that feature ingame.<
I hope you revise Kinetic Damage since the Prototype Rail gun retains its original 8 damage stat - I think it appropriate to follow the advice of this post and increase the damage of rail guns from 1 to 2 so it is half what it was originally at 4 - I know on very large ships it is cheap weapon but uses a lot of space for the damage it gives at the start of the game. I am not sure of decreasing the cool down time he mentioned is appropriate but bumping the damage applied to half what it
Running Sundays Patch to Beta 0.975 Notice playing Dregin there is no upgrade to Fighting Pits and they don't have tourism techs now likely broken XML custom tech file for Dregin
Krynn research tree bugs probably typo in XML files - running Friday BETA .975 - Conversion Section - The Path - Krynn Temple should upgrade the Krynn Consulate but does not. Haven't yet tried to see if Krynn Temple upgrades to Krynn Mission. Cost for to enable celestial tourism seems excessively high in research points (25 turns at 245 research) likely another typo. Seems to me you should be able to save ideology points and not spread the
While playing Beta 6.1 I found another bug - due to previous attempts playing the same custom race I have a bunch of old ship designs and I found that if you have two designs with same name - the game does some kind of parse based on the text of the ship name not the actual design you choose for your production qu. So if you making a ship that requires special resources it shows the resources for both of the ship designs as being used up even though the ship you making m
There needs to be a way to transport population between planets - right now I am killing population on my home world where my shipyard is. General comment on the game - graphics wise the game is pretty good - there appear to be some bugs in some of the code for displaying space battles and invasions that occasionally cause the game to crash or hang up. Generally the Beta 6 code is a lot better than Beta 5 - much more stable or playable. There appear to
Another gameplay issue / design issue - when you want to upgrade an existing design and not replacing a module that requires special resources - the upgrade option won't display that new ship design unless you have extra of the required resource for the new design even you are not replacing changing that aspect of the original design. Also had issues at least with Dregnir where their original colonizer design had two colonization modules if you delete the mysterious first module t
You can use double/triple module constructor to build a starbase first then build a nearby shipyard. Right now building a shipyard uses all the construction modules you have. I just had a terrain corvette attack one of my works with only 5 hitpoints of hull remaining - should be some kind of below x% (say 20%) or original hitpoints retreat to repair defend a strategic resource starbase or planet. Do not initiate attacks unless somehow guaranteed to win. I had the b
Also seen Planetary Exploitation upgrade and Soil Enhancement not work on certain planets that are not level 16 or 20 planets - only tile they can be place on is the colony capital.
When you are awarded ships like a colonizer from exploring space wreckage and you have no use anymore for the colonizer (all usage planets are already colonized) - what happens to the colonist onboard if you upgrade to some other type of support ship - trade ship - construction ship etc. Ideally the colonists would be evacuated off to the closest planet. Currently there appears also to be no way to see how many people are onboard a colonizer. Why is the mass of the non-proto
That is great - as I noted in another post while I was unable to play on my laptop - it works fine on my desktop for some reason. Glad bugs are being worked out before launch - Beta 6.0 and 6.1 seems to work much better (more stable) than Beta 5 I started playing earlier this week.
Strangely I am able to play the same games without the Starbase bug on my desktop computer but I am also using a AMD R9-290X video card on that computer verses the Nvidia GTX 765M video card on my MSI Series GE60 2OE-003US Gaming Laptop. Desktop has direct Ethernet connection to the cable modem verses WiFI connection on the laptop. Both were game verified and have the latest opt-in beta patch. Both have the files mentioned as needed to be deleted and redownloaded.<
Repeated the bug as custom terran race = both were played on hugh galaxy - fast pace - fast research.
I found the console command to unlock all technologies and I still get empty upgrade starbase screen so either bug in dregnir coding or in the beta 6.1 patch itself that needs to be address. I have a game save if any developer needs me to send it for review.
