The terrorists' actions were designed to draw America into an overreaction That's a rediculous argument. Do you really think the terrorists wanted us to overthrow the one government that was giving them sanctuary? Do you really think the terrorists want us to build a democracy in Iraq? Do you really thi

This doesn't make sense to me. The Bush strategy has been to project power and overthrow governments that support terrorists, not hide out in an isolated country. Dissent is fine, disrespect is not.

The terrorists have more to fear from us, if we excel in diplomancy than if we excel in any striclty military arena. What is it about our diplomacy that terrorists should fear? I think it is important for us to encourage other countries to detain terrorists and freeze assets within their borders. I don'

If my thirty years in education have shown me anything, it is that quite a few students with low test scores and classroom grades got a great deal out of their educations, and that the reverse is also frequently true. How do you define/measure whether someone "got a great deal out of their education"?<B

I have had this happen alot: 1. Someone makes an argument 2. I post statistics that counter that argument 3. The other person starts downplaying the validity of the statistics. Recently on another board, there was a discussion about marketing and its effect on people. One person said that despite the fact that Pepsi does better in taste tests, it's sales were behind Coke by an order of magnitude because of Coke's ma

I remember that there were 3 vote counts, and Bush won all 3. The Florida state government, controlled by Republicans including GW's brother Jeb, decided to not do another recount. Gore sued to do another recount, and the Florida Supreme court sided with Gore. The ruling was appealed to the US Supreme court, which ruled against Gore. An independent study determined that even with another recount, Bush still would have won. Also worth

Let's look at how the last 3 presidents from each party have done on major defense issues. Republicans: GW Bush: Invaded Iraq and Afghanistan. Established GITMO. Demands complete, verifiable, and irreversible disarmament of North Korea. GHW Bush: Ejected Iraq from Kuwait. Reagan: Massive buildup of the military. Made the end of co

While Democrats are criticizing Republicans for supposedly claiming a monopoly on strong defense, the Democrats are claiming a monopoly on effective diplomacy. I don't think it is a widespread opinion in the Republican party that public education has outlived its usefulness.

A while ago I heard that more woman than usual may be voting on security issues rather than economic ones. If that is the case, more could vote for Bush.

Vincible: There are lots of nuts on both sides that say unsubstantiated things. Has anyone of Al Gore's prominence compared Clinton's administration to one of the most murderous regimes ever?

Sound to me like he's more confused....or perhaps has some vested interest in the situation....moreso than being prudent. Have you been reading too much left-wing propaganda? ... Bush can't be prudent, he must be either dumb or conspiring

Had we put forth that the cause for the attack was on a humanitarian level, citing Hussein's past and potential future violations of human rights I think that the governments of France, Germany, and Russia were well aware of Hussein's humanitarian record and didn't care.

I would consider references to Nazis to be more of an epitath than a political criticism. "Communist" is probably equivalent to "Nazi", but I think "socialist" would be a bit of a stretch. But anyway, when did O'Reilly or Hannity call Clinton a communist or socialist?
