That's a crying shame, Matthew, when you could be playing your favourite race instead and be using your valuable experience to support reporting the issues it has through your experiences. After all, the beta period is ultimately about testing the game, not about playing the race you think is most powerful.
I am testing the game i just happen to be sticking with the Vasari. I am playing on a 6 player map about

To bad they are not listening in this case. As it seems there is still a call for all bases to move. The Vasari are my least favorite of the 3 races but I am sticking 100% with them now in beta 2 cause of the huge advantage thier bases movin.
I put my map files in C:\Program Files\Stardock\TotalGaming\Sins of a Solar Empire\Galaxy and have had no problem finding them in the game. When you start a new game look at the bottom to the left most button and click on "Change maps" that cycles through the small, medium, large and custom maps. Your maps will be in the proper section due to size and number of players
I would have to agree i like the idea of all the bases being able to move even if it is at a slower speed or having to research tech's first.
Mines in space are a 3D problem unlike those buried in some jungle where you are limited in travel. Plus this is a game not a real life combat sim. There should be a much better way to remove mines in the game.
I just dont see the point in wanting a base on top/below it would look wierd and then why not be able to place other things on top like ship or research buildings. Plus not sure if it would even be possible to build on top coding wise since clicking on the planet opens the planet options. It would be far better to really increase range or allow them to move in the grav well or if they can't move allow at least 2 bases per grav well.
1. Star bases need to move or have greatly increased range as of now TEC and Advent are to easy to get around and still take out the planet and or fleet. 2. Agree 3. Agree vastly increase range or allow at least 2 per well 4. Disagree other wise to easy to build multiple bases to fast. 5. Feel 50 - 50 on this. 6. What would be the point? 7. Agree
Oh MoO2 was an awesome game. MoO3 sucked.
I also should add my 2 cents. I have never regretted getting SINS in early BETA and looking forward to another great release with the expansion.
omg, i still remember being jealous my cousin had pong [e digicons]X|[/e] Sweet rig.
Thanks for the post letting us know you are at least lurking on the forums {i myself am very partial to lurking} reading what we have to say about the BETA. Great news on the possible update soon.
Make sure you are up to date. My first tip is to think you are the ruler of the empire and make the big calls and the little people do the rest. You can micro manage only to a limited degree. Since time never stops during play while you are trying to micro one area the rest or being ignored. Or that is how i find/think of the game. I love sins for that aspect order big fleet, build a captial ship send them off to war. I almost never directly get involved in mirco
double post
Cool i just did a google search for space ponies today as i was wondering about them here is what i found. from neosseker site Started in the Beta era of Sins, the Space Ponies are a group of players so dedicated that they had a Space Pony achievement put in the game to honor them. They sent the Ironclad team some special Space Pony hats and, for the first time ever, here's a picture of Craig, Blair and Josie proudly wearing their Space Pony hats. <a href="http://www.n
Being able to remodel star bases would be awesome. I am 95% into finishing my first beta game as the Vasari. Now having palyed at least one game of each race i have to admit the ability of the Vasari base to move in the gav well is a huge benefit and all races's star bases should be able to move within the gav well like that.
I think it'd be awesome if there could be a tactical structure that could auto-deploy mines to a specified location for you. This structure would also have the capability of slowly replacing "used" exploded mines autonomously, but each of these structures could only maintain a certain number of mines. (10, 50, 100, whatever balances the best). This makes mines less of a micro-management thing as well as the whole "OMG 1000s of mines" kind
LOL that was way funny not to mention cool. I just watched the first movie again about 2 weeks ago. I love they got faces from the actors and everything.
In the "beta feedback" there is at least one thread along the lines of how to play normal sins without beta. I am not exactly sure what it was called i just remember looking it over. It was along the lines of uninstalling everything (yes it sucks i know) Then install SINS and before installing make a copy of normal SINS in a different folder and then install beta normal and there you would have both to play with.
Do you bother with Gauss platforms?
I usally use them as a defense close to other structures like research or ship building. They are good only that they can at least slow down a few enemy and it clustered close so that thier range over laps they are not to bad but still easy to move around and ignore or pick off one at a time.
Likes others said the first while anyways you dont really need to leave anything there the only exception is pirate raids if you are the target. The AI my current game has out bid me at the last moment putting a higher bounty on my head. Anytime your are at least 2 jumps away from your home world and lack major structural defense like lots of beams and hangers you should keep at least a small defensive force in orbit even if only as a delaying tactic till you fleet can come back.
1. All races star bases move - Yes the current stationary ones are to easy to by pass . 2. Phase jump inhibitor built into star base. What percent should it be? Keep in mind phase jump inhibitors for planets are usually 700% - Yes 3. Revamp Mines on Advent and Vasri - Not really sure 4. Starbases take more money and time to construct in exchange for more firepower - No
If the scouts had a formation or command that would set them to clearing mines automatically that would take out most of the pain when dealing with mines from an invader point of view but this would not remove mines as a threat or obstacle as the scouts away from the fleet are at great risk of being wiped out with bombers or other small fast ships. This formation or command would only be really usefull after major fighting has ended in the well and you can move your scouts
I personally do not like Family Guy at all. They are offensive, mean, racist, and dirogatory. The show exibihts no class whats so ever, and i have been personally attacked by the show. examples: when the family goes to louis fathers home and they work at the plantations with the mexicans (i have hispanic heritage) how brian and stewy felt offense to the interacial couple (the black guy going out wi
Actually, being a beta tester was a perk for those who pre-ordered (which I do believe it says you are doing). you don't pay to be a beta tester, it's just something you get for pre-ordering. it's your choice on whether or not you actually download the Beta. the only real downside, tho is that you have to remove Sins and reinstall it to get it to work again w/o the beta. just update it only to v1.12 [/quo
I was playing a really tough match on small random map. Me as Advent vs The Vasari. Background info I had them down to 3 planets with me nearly finished all research only maybe 3 or 4 left to research total minors ones i had no use for really. All my planets maxed out and all with trade ports and etc etc. At the pinch points i had several beam defense and 3 hangers as well as the SB and a massive fleet on the southern point ready for invasion. The Vasari counte
