If I want to build something like eye of the universe or any other wonder, does it help to have more than one planet research it at same time. I realize that many of the social projects only affect the planet you build them but is it the same for a wonder?? Thanks for help.
I have wanted to buy this game for a long time but never got around to it with all the GalCiv I have been playing. I was at EB Games yesterday and found The Corporate Machine for $1.60!!! Not $10, not $20, not $30. $1.60. I don't know if it was a fluke and I got very lucky but if you want this game, look at you local store on the bargain shelf.
This is turning into AA for color blindness. I am also red/green color blind and would love to see a switch on some of the colors. I think the red/yellow solution is a good one for the diplomacy screen. I also have a hard time of telling who owns what on the overview map but that is probably a much harder fix. Any ideas??
Well this turned into a whole thing. I believe that after all this I have decided that I am taking the whole empire thing too seriously. I will join the Midwestern Confederation. I am proud to be from Ohio and the Midwest.
Its kind of like the atheist's that have a church. It makes no sense but they do it anyways. Maybe call it the moderate cult of neutrality. The Un-empire?
Reading the remarks by Mike Hussey, do many of you feel that way? Are there a lot of players that enjoy not being part of an empire? I guess it is kind of like joining a frat. There are those who are into it and those who are not. Maybe we could form an empire for those of us who do not want to be in an empire... :)
I have owned GalCiv since it was released and played about 15 games though I have never submitted to Metaverse. I am now interested in joining an empire but have no idea which one to choose. The two that have caught my attention the most are Midwest and GROSS. I am from Ohio so midwest peeked my interest but am also very evil and GROSS seems to nurture that aspect. I guess it is just hard to choose with so many cool empires out there. Any ideas? Is anyone else having this problem or am

Gotcha, I will try to use luck bonus. It was getting frustrating when the AI would get a kickass ship on the first few turns and I am motoring around in a crappy starfighter.
I play tiny and usually on lower difficulty. I get the stupid space monster all the time. I just try to lead to enemy territory. I have never gotten a pre-cursor event. I have seen some of the other races get it but I never have and I have played 15 games.
I was destroying the Altarians and had them down to one planet and I was sending transport after transport. They were getting weaker with each attack. I could taste victory! Then their leader came on and said he was surrendering to the Yor pretty much just to piss me off. It worked. I spent my entire economy and used all my military but I wiped the Yor off the map just to make sure tht I had takne care of the rest of the Altarians.

The problem I have is that I hate the way the Torians look. I just hate them. I have found myself seeking them out first in my games for no real reason. I have actually lost a couple of games because I dedicate my entire economy to killing those bastards. I just hate them.
