Look at this from another angle: he switched jobs. To me, that says that he was unsatisfied with his previous position. Whether that is due to inability to implement his vision, lousy working conditions, etc., we don't know. But most game developers I know (worked with, known) will stay with a horrible job (and get kicked time and again - game developers just don't learn!) if they get to have autonomy and implement their own vision and spin on things and do "cool things".&

I have bought and played all their games in this vein (including Night Watch). Does anyone know if they will be releasing any more games with this engine, whether in this series or another? (Aside from HOMM 5, which allegedly uses the same engine, but obviously in a different way.) This has got to be my favorite turn-based tactical engine of them all - and I'm open to hearing about decent substitutes. [e digicons][/e]

Your telling of the story was actually more interesting than playing it out. Plus, it crashed for me after the "Final Battle". Your little story has inspired me to do some creative writing. I'll have to post up the "Story of Relias" this weekend.

If I had limited gaming funds, I would certainly consider getting a refund for the game, and I'm certainly not going to tell people to "hold onto their game" and assume that other people have as much in their gaming fund as I do. A lot of people have a huge opportunity cost with their gaming funds. Game A *or* Game B is a real and difficult choice. Obviously if someone bought Elemental, they're interested in the genre, and will be back in 5-6 months when the game works and i

Will do. I had a crash that wasn't an OOM, but went more along the lines of I alt-tabbed, came back and a bunch of my textures were missing (but still playable, although Jenkus or whatever was a black outline and spell effects were invisible). I alt-tabbed again to force a refresh of my textures and when I went back in it crashed with a DX null reference. I was on Catalyst 10.7, so I'll give 10.8 a shot.

When I play games that use a different resolution, my desktop resolution changes: good. My fences scale to the new resolution: good. When I exit the game, my fences are not exactly how I originally positioned them: bad. Eventually, after changing resolutions enough times, the spacing between my fences becomes non-existent, and my fences overlap. Can this please be addressed with at least keeping track of the resolutions that I have specifically placed my fences and their corresponding p

Today I noticed that Fences Pro installed itself to D:\Fences despite me telling it to install itself in d:\Program Files (x86)\Fences. I thought I might have accidentally installed it to my root, so I uninstalled it, and re-installed it, taking careful note of where it was installing to. Lo' and behold, it was targetting d:\Program Files (x86)\Fences. Install finishes, and D:\Fences is recreated with all the files in there. Not cool.

I know this sounds odd, but I remember working on a software package that had a "Wizard" in it, that would float around and give a tutorial of the software. This software was intended for release in US and foreign markets. We had to localize it to use a different character, and remove any reference to the word "Wizard" because certain regions and peoples are STRONGLY against witchcraft / wizardry / etc. to the point of not even being okay with a fictional / fun reference to them.

I was having this issue via Impulse, ever since 2 Impulse Updates ago. Started having connection issues, but only in Impulse. Not running any FW software or AV software, and I would intermittently get this issue - while checking out always causes this issue (2 purchases since that update). The checkout would succeed, but I would never receive the receipt screen. I just manually refreshed my game screen, and it was good. Re-installed between 1st and

iirc, my stardock central login worked on both; either that, or I put my keys into Impulse to associate them with my Impulse account. I do recall that I didn't need any outside assistance - at that time, which *was* a transitory period, so that may have changed. If neither of those work, I would e-mail them at their direct support e-mail address (these forums are more for other-user support). They have always gotten back to me within a few days when I had issues such as a

Are you copying files, or just text? Clipboard for text works great. For file clipboard sharing (which I turned off because most of the time I don't want to copy files that way) you just right-click on the target machine in a place that "Paste" is a valid command for that OLE type. When you right-click w/ a file on your clipboard, a little "copying" progress dialog will appear (which is why I turned off the feature) and when it's complete, the Paste command will be active in

I recently had some issues getting a Vista x64 secondary working (while my other Vista x64 secondary worked fine). I tried everything mentioned in this and many other threads, but nothing worked. I reinstalled Multiplicity and rebooted both my primary and secondary machines so many times that I lost track. Finally, I went into my DHCP reserve list on my router (I'm in a peer-to-peer network, not a domain) and added a reserve for the IP of my non-working secondary. The reas

I'd like to add to that request and request that the 'auto-arrange' behavior become optional, so I don't have to have all my icons that are in a fence contiguous.

Yup! That was it! I changed from a solid color background, and that fixed it. (But, but, but... I LIKE my solid black background. [e digicons][/e] )

Sorry, I really should know better - it was late. 1) No anti-virus / firewall software enabled 2) The program installed, and is indeed running. If I hover over the fence areas, I can move them, resize them, add them, add TO them, etc. I just can't SEE their frame / 'window' / region (whatever you want to call it), regardless of transparency settings or color settings. 3) 32-bit system. 4) It's not on. I only turn that on on machines with multiple di
