Don't have any really good advice - but if you need to colonize faster you could buy the ships to colonize faster.

Page 42 of the manual Destabilizing is in effect spending money to make their people unhappy which makes them more inclined to defect to a rival civilization.
They are listed on page 25 of the manual. Skull and crossbones means: Culturally rebellious. Star systems that are becoming dangerously enthralled with other civilizations will receive this icon. This means that the people are thinking about defecting and that you need to do something about it.
In GalCiv II, you have 6 types of buildings - research, production, food, entertainment, culture, money. All the improvements are just upgrades. In GalCiv I you have more diversity. Fusion Power Plant, Anti-matter Plant, Bank, Exchange, etc. Accomplishes the same but less cookie cutter. I actually felt more limited on the planet construction with GalCiv II. It felt more restricted and cookie cutter than GalCiv I The tech in Gal Civ II is specific to a need. You need A, yo
I just got done with a Galciv 2 game and went back to Galciv 1. I like it better. The graphics in Galciv 2 may be better, but Galciv 1 is just more fun!
Don't know if anyone is still reading these posts, but need help with Starbase Mod. The mod file works upto ID 99 but stops working with ID 100. I can switch the IDs and change the 100 to 99 and the 99 to 100 and it will still just works to 99. I have even deleted and totally re-installed the game, but no luck. I thought it would work to at least the default boodend of 140 and I though I could even have more if I increased the bookend, but right now it stops working at 100. Appreciate any h
Hey I actually like Gal Civ 1 better - less micro management. I just wish they would fix the anomoly bug.
They come back in areas you have not discovered. If you have already visited that space then I have not seen them come back.
I will unable to send the files as requested. The power supply on my computer failed. The service center decided to replace my hard drive without copying the existing data, and not all files were backed up. I no longer have the GalCiv files, plus I must reload the base game, plus redo the modifcations. Made the mistake of trusting the serice center with my hard drive, fortunately most of the data was backed up, but still not all.
Peace Phoenix, I have the standard starbase modules in the Galciv/data directory. I do not have any starbase mods. I do have tech, improvements, and event mods. I will limit this topic to one forum (mods). Thanks for the interest.
Carielf, Thanks for the reply. When I get back into town, I will e-mail the files. Peace Phonex, Even when I start a new game with mods, the star base modules do not work. If a start a new game without any mods, then the starbase modules do work.
I am playing Galciv - the laterst version. I have Altarian Prophecy but wanted to play the basic game. It is in a different directory. I am using a mod that I have used on previous games based on input from the library. I am experiencing two problems that I have never seen before. 1. Disappearing anomalies and other like stuff - annoying but game still playable. 2. Starbase modules do not work - game not playable. I have tried everything to get this to work. Separate direc
Starbase modules not working with mods. I have no modded starbase modules, just techs improvements and events. I have moved them all the main data folder. I have even copied them into the original file name, but starbase modules still do not work. HELP! - major bug with last patch!!
I was playing a came of Gal Civ 1.21 I also have Atarian but in a different folder. 1. The anomalies are disappearing when I open a game. I have two files to show this example that I can send. 2. The Starbase modules are not working - what happened? I will I could back out the last patch because that seems to have caused the bugs.
I also had problems, but I did not get the submission screen. I am using AOL.
Frogboy, I sent the e-mail along with the zipped file of the game. If you start the game, you will have to play about 3 months before you win. I am only at 96% cultural victory, but with 90% military victory and over 50% tech victory I think I won the game. I was wondering if I need to be at 100% cultural before I could submit, by why do I then win at 96%. Everyone, thanks for all the help!! ~SDC~
Ponts, I tried that and it still didn't work. Maybe Frogboy or someone at Galciv can give me a hand. I could e-mail them my game along with my screen name and registration code (if they need it). If it is something to do with AOL, maybe they can fix their upload. AOL is kinda big, I thought they would support connectivity with them. Maybe my game is corrupted? After the first time, I won and got rejected, I now have to play about 3 more months to win again, so I have played about
1. I think in the beginning the number could be based on the sector. Empty secorts can have 1 starbase, Other sectores can have 1 plus the number of planets and resources. Each planet and resource would support the additional economy necessary for more starbases. Each sector could have an economy rating, like influence. The economy rating could bleed into other sectors like influence. As you build your economy/population, adjacent sectors close to your core could have more starbases.
Since I just upgraded my PC so I could play this game and got a free year of AOL, I am not about to change. What I just did is open up stardock, go to the Galciv forum, used the link from Frogboy and registerd Jourin again. Then with IE open through the stardock screen, I won the game again, hit done, but no luck. If somebody has an idea or an answer, I will log back in a couple of hours. I really wanted to upload this game before I upgrade to 1.03. ~SDC~
OK same thing happened, no submission screen. Do I need to do this through stardock? If I am not connected, then hitting done bring up the main menu. When I hit metaverse, it logs me on to AOL and then opens up the Galciv metaverse we site, but still NO submission screen. Freddybear, how do I register with the drenigin key instead of the CD key? Where do I get the drenigin key. An no I am not going to subcrib just to upload my score.
For the record my scroe is 8987 (441 mpts). Yes the connection was established. I am using AOL. I am not getting any submission screen. I click done and Galciv closes. I will try again right now.
Frogboy, I have registered Jourin at least 5 times. I used the link that you gave and registered again. I get the reply that Jourin has been successfully registered. While on line with the metaverse web page open to the Galciv site, I hit the turn button on the game. It takes me to the winner screen and tells me I won through a cultural victory, on two empires left, each with two planets and 1 neutral - medium size, everyone normal. I then press done and the metaverse web s
Freddybear, thanks for the information, but no luck. I tried all that and I still can't get my game to upload. I wanted to finish the version 1.02 game before I download the new version. Its my first game everyone normal on a medium map. Can I not upload because it is version 1.02 and the newest game is version 1.03? I should get a message "Successful upload into Metaverse". or I should get an error message, "Metavesrse upload failed for xxx reason" I get nothing
Freddybear, I openned up Stardock. I have Drengin.net highlight - it where I get the updates from. How do I register?
Freddybear, I do don't have Drengin.net. I just have the normal game. I have uploaded stardock. Do I need to register with Stardock. The game is good, but the way you upload to the Metaverse needs a patch!!!
