You can avoid wars in galciv if you wish. It is not a a something you have to do. You can play a totally diplomatic game and use your culture/influence to win the game. Though this technique may be a bit boring, if you set it for military conquest only you will get the highest scores using this technique. If you keep all victory conditions checked this would end up being a Culture win. :D I perfer to dominate with sheer power, and if some alien scum wants to attempt a war I will of cour

Yes indeed! I say x 3 at least! I play only the expansion myself. I like the first one but with the added things in AP it is much more fun! NeoTech has a succession and Game of the Month featured right now and both are with the expansion. I suspect we will do all of our Galciv games this way. Hope to see you at NeoTech http://www.neotechgaming.com/portal.php?sid=2ecd9994d30f785aa7e8d22559148d68 a Starbase for Galciv fans - plus a lot more

I find that if I treat the races that are being killed off by others they may surrender to you. It depends on your compatibility with them morality wise. If you match them give them a little something every other turn or so when you see them almost defeated. There is a good chance they will turn the remaining planets over to you! :D Hope to see you at NeoTech http://www.neotechgaming.com/portal.php?sid=2ecd9994d30f785aa7e8d22559148d68 a Starbase for Galciv fans - plus a lot more

Yes, be sure you check your own morality level. Stats, society I think is how you see your morality level. For example you always start out at 50 or neutral. Whenever one of the events pops up you pick the bottom one. This would give you evil morality points putting you below 50. Now if you happen to meet the Altarians, they will begin to not like you. They are always Pure good and will not have good relations with any race with less then 50, in fact they will only be friendly once you

Excellent advice! I have never played on that setting. No idea what the situation would be like. I perfer huge tightly clustered abundant worlds. Gigantic are also entertaining but the length of time it takes is not worth the effort. Not much else I could add! Ctrl+L I did not know about that one I over use the ctrl+N quite a bit to get a nice starting spot. Good to see more new players! You will love the game it is easy to play but is tough to master! :p The best part about the game I feel is the Metaverse. Either create your own Empire or find one of the many great one to join that fits your interest and playing style. If your into Star Trek for example you may want to check out Star Fleet Empire! :HOT:

I just had a game where this happened also. My production levels went from 2-3 times that of the AI to finally lower by 2 times. I went from being well in the lead to way behind and nothing I could do would change it. My taxes was at 5% and my spending was at only 9%. I had to max out the propaganda spending to stay in the game as long as I did. Most of my planets were at moral level 42-49. I had all the moral resources in my area and built many of the moral boosters. This has to be a bug if you

I am shocked that some people are making comments about the best software company I have every purchased games from. Icho Tolot said it for me I back Frogboy (Brad) 100% on this. Just goes to show you can't please everyone. >:( :notsure:

KarmaGirl - I liked your article a lot! The recent elections showed this quite a bit with the lies and all. I have come to the conclusion that some people are anti-social in the real world or simply have no interaction for whatever reasons. They make up some character to use online and torture others with their comments to bolster their own self esteem. I find it disturbing how people can make hurtful comments toward another one and think it is fine posting it and wonders why he is getting a war

I was wondering if Galciv2 could feature something along the lines that Alpha Centuari introduced when 2 races were allied. They could enter each others bases for repairs, decide on battle plans of attack or change them at the last minute. A Robust selection of actions to perform while in diplomatic talks etc. Being able to manipalulate the talks in a way to make it more realistic. Is there a chance that you
