Lucky seems to also help when your dealing with stronger races as to if they attack or not. Also allows better chances of getting good events etc. Creativity I found always helps with Research anonomolies as someone stated already. As far as I know in my own games where I tried it nothing else is affected. NeoTech Network http://www.neotechgaming.com a sci-fi themed website that is unique supporting Galciv of course. :p (I have to plug my site!!)

Yes in a way Galciv is like those games. Both of which are still my favorite games of all times. I played it to death and they did make a patch to allow it to run on XP. I installed it a few months ago and played it again for a few months. The one thing that is different is the graphics and some diplomacy options are missing. Mainly the one where you can plan on attacks jointly and being able to enter your allies bases for healing and protection. I plan to setup forums for SM

dabe I think this is a little rash of a statement but man do I agree with it. In the first place, they both could use pen and paper so what in the world are you referring to? I have watched the debates 3 times and no where did I see this happen. The whole problem with the GOP is they tend to do anything to get their guy elected even if it is wrong. GOP vote for the party rather then the person. I am proud to be an independent voter so I can vote my mind and not for any party. Bush has the best l

To put it as succinctly as I can we went into Iraq because after 9/11 we really could no longer to dicker around with outlaw regimes in that part of the world. Saddam had flouted the UN resolutions and cease fire terms for a decade and no one knew what the heck was going on in there. The UN gave Saddam one final chance to comply with his previous obligations and once again

It is not hard to understand as he is not changing his positions at all. He is trying to word it differently to state his position and gets himself into hot water with people who are into discrediting him. I find it hard to understand a man who has more bullcrap then I ever heard in my entire life. The debate proves how horrible Mr Bush is at being president he was a bumbling fool and that is me being nice! Kerry is a good man and w

I like being good to pure good myself. The fundmentalists are a pain in the backside to deal with when being evil. I play chaotic good though usually going evil in the beginning of the game and use events to get back. I am 100% in my current game saintly! :d NeoTech Gaming Network http://www.neotechgaming.com a sci-fi themed site supporting Galciv of course. :p [Message Edited]

It is set to not skip turns of course which is why I posted this as a bug. ;) This only happens if you try to stop a unit that is on its way some place else and you decide to change it. The unit you had turns left on does not come up the turn ends. At least in the past 3 games I have noticed this issue. :)

I am experiencing some rather odd bugs.. I am playing a game where only one race has 100% approval rating the other one has 98% and another has 85%. None of the Minors have a rating higher then 90%. My approval rating is 100% in all my colonies. Looking at my stats it says I am in 3rd place? :notsure: Also concerning turns left.. If you move another ship instead of the one the game gives you it does not give you the moves you are owed. Say you have a constructor heading some

Gaius I was typing before thinking a general problem with me. I should have made sure you are a legal player before making comments. I am sorry! :p

Bill Ko this is like a normal trade is happening which tells me it is a bug. I have had the same issues with the auto-survey as you and the same as the previous post. I have also had them miss at times finding one that is there. I send the ship to a planet, the very next turn it will go off to inspect it. :)

First you must understand what jobs are being outsourced and for what reason. The good jobs are being sent overseas while the lower pay jobs remain. It is a simple fact that most anyone who understands the economy and the markets knows. Out sourcing is about greedy companies lobbying the president to support them. He in turns actually pays them to send the work overseas this is what has gone wrong with this country. Further mor

I did not read all of your post.. I can bet you did very little research for your article. (No insult intended) There is not one thing that happened in the US economy that hurt us greater then the stupid policies that this President has dished out. Our main problem with our economy is tax cuts, outsourcing of our jobs, and the war in Iraq. (There are a lot more things I could easily list) The attacks of 911 did hurt us but not as bad as the RIGHT makes out. No this election cycle the Republicans

CariElf yeah which is why I jumped to that conclusion. :) Games_Master, Good point! However I worked with many companies in those days hardware and software. I know for a fact that about 50+ game DEVS dropped the Atari due to pirating. Merketing did not help things either you are correct there. ;) The Atari, commodore and Amiga computers were all victims of pirating. The only reason the PC's today do not have the same issue is the shear volume of them out there. :D<br

Spacepundit you gave some excellent tips I do not go to war often but when I do I will try it differently now after reading your tips. I would love these tips posted at my site. :D Aww Nuts yeah it is kind of odd how I picked a name like this for my Nick. LOL I will post a storyline of my conquest in the Star Fleet Story thread later on today maybe. This should be my best game ever. :p

Good Point.... I will remember that one.. I jumped the gun a little because I have seen many people try to pirate Galciv. At the old website I was tied in with I had them regularly stop in and plead for help getting their COPY working. I tend to get a little out of line with pirating. I watched it kill the Atari computer line.. One of the best computers that was ever made in my eyes. :D

Happy Birthday John.. I am almost 50 myself.. I love Stardock because of their devotion to the player. I enjoy meeting everyone in these forums myself. Both of you guys hit on the reasons I am in here. I run my website for the same reasons. I have to agree Littlewotts, one of the reasons I keep playing Galciv is because of the wonderful community like the Great people in these forums. Heck you rarely see a flame war of any kind.. Not common in any forums. :) NeoTech Network h
