Merry Christmas Paul.
Thank you and the best of Holidays to you and yours!
If anything, all that the skinning 'newbie' needs is an eddycayshun in skinning's history.... Wrong Jafo, wrong. History is history. Important to know yes, but certainly not all that the next generation of skinners need to hear. I get that sense that many view the "golden age " of skinning as something that has passed and there is nothing that i
A well thought out analysis Brad and a most useful exercise for any organization that desires to strive for excellence. I believe you are quite right with your concerns for the Forums and skinner support issues. Imagine the hue and cry if anyone else had written the same critique.
Great tale Po! Thanks for this and the many smiles it gave me.
I'm sorry, I'm sorry, please not the dreaded "sticky wicket"!
Thanks Troy. Just having a bit of fun with these "blokes" as when I first read Jafo's message I was amazed that it appeared to be English but I had no idea what he said.
Very interesting....what planet are you people from and what language are you using?.....
In a vista world where we're making animated wallpapers and high resolution boot screens and vector-based gadgets and 3D models that do things on the desktop I have been working on the animated wall concept for a while now, though not ready for prime time, and look forward to your developments. There will be new magic in the skinning world whe

Can't use download counts to tell you anything. One can use a bot to download as many as you want. We get a 100+ walls a week. Good point.
Great article and very helpful to new and existing members. Does need to be FF compatible though for more folks to take advantage of this benefit.
But now what happens to those wall that get rated up or down? Do we move them from 1 library to the other? That could turn into a nightmare. If there is 2 libraries, the walls would have to stay in the library it was put into regardless of how the popular rating went. Is it really true that it would be a nightmare? Walls are already selectable f
Phil is excellent and also a brilliant teacher. Another all time master of light can be found here : http://www.goodbrush.com/ As for working with light and painting in digital art, I personally think there is none better.
Sadly 99% of those still refer to a wallpaper as a 'screensaver'... So true. How did that ever come about?
Greetings SD! It was so good to see your name on the post. You have been missed I assure you. Hang in there my friend.
The other option would be to simply reject walls that don't cut it, and only put things on the personal pages if that boxed had been checked by the artist. Seems to be the preferred approach, (based on the limited number of responders though). Perhaps worthy of a poll to find the answer? I think the analogy by Po, <TABLE cellpadding=8
Thanks for putting this together. Best of the Holiday Season to you and yourn!
Thanks for the link... have a great show Po and above all...enjoy yourself!
It is 4 stars for the wall section only. I believe this is the only section that requires a 4 star rating to be visible to the general public. I imagine this is because the wall files are large and because they do not relate to a product that Stardock sells, in other words, they are not considered really "skins".
We have cohesive threads here? No one ever told me! A most excellent point!
Thanks Bichur and Island Dog, good t hear from you and now let us return the thread to Po as I had no intention of highjacking it. Please excuse Sir Po!
Can always do with some Roy Buchanan, especially Hot Wires, and now and then a very loud Nantucket Sleighride by Mountain is always good for the soul. Procol Harum is also quite essential to me in the autumn of my madness.
Good to see ya BX! Thanks.
