What are the "American" empires? I saw Mid West and there was a No Va (I presume Northern Virginia - oddly where I actually live!) - any others?

Size of galaxy (and particulalry population) plays a big part. Seemingly the WAY in which you win is also relevant (culturaly victory scores lower than military or tech wins).

Warty - I just threw that board together - literally in about 4 minutes so some are pw protected - hence the register here section to add your name to the list of allowed users. It was really just an example so you could see what was possible (I would certainly change the colour scheme) as I am damn sure I dont have the time to admin a board as well!!

Jaime Wolf Your score can go down if you post a low score - I only found this out because I posted all mine win or "lose" (actuallu never played to the end but you can lose easy enough by just giving all your planets away). I (wrongly) figured that all scores would be accretive to your overall score. This is not the case - the total of your scores is divided by an increasing number based on the number of games you submit - so if you submit a significantly "below average" score

"Anyone living in Europe can join" Well except the Turks of course. :P See ANZAC is open entry as long as you are a New Zealander or an Aussie - very simple rules for a very simple people :)

I am one of the people dragging the average age up!! Its pretty old at the other game forum I frequent as well (Hearts of Iron - brilliant if you like WW II strategy) but some of them - MOO 3 is one are just juvenile (MOO 3 - what were they thinking?)

My problem with the gigantic games is just the time. I mostly enjoy the opening devleopment land grab phases; often I run out of patience in the mid-game. This is where I quite like the Metaverse as it has provided the incentive to just finish rather than quit and start another game. Anyway its going quite well. I am trying another one on pure evil (worth it for the soldiering bonuses alone) and have managed to land grab about a third of the map. We have also had the "share

What cracks me up is the poll which showed the average age of GalCiv players (at least of those who answered the poll) was 33. Now I know one 2000 year old guy can really skew the results but even so for a game that is pretty old.

Warty In order to make the "ANZAC Empire" just edit your empire to change its name and logo (click on "MyEmpire" and use the edit button). That will be a lot easier then starting a new empire as you have more players anyhow. At that point Kiwi will disband and make a spot for some other deserving empire on the front page :)

4D and Togakure: Some of the Aussies are interested in forming Empire ANZAC (or something similar) for folk on both sides of the ditch. I am easy although given we probably cant realistically compete for the top spot (Apolyton has 66 members!) I had assumed we would compete with each other.... Thoughts?

I have no problem with the ANZAC idea. However, I had assumed that we would have the usual Aussie/Kiwi rivalry and compete against each other (I am damn sure I dont have the time to play enough to get into top honours contention!!)
