Mine used to show up fine as well, but now it doesn't seem to (as of last month at least).

I don't have any particular preferences with regard to how groups of units are represented at higher zoom levels. In my mind, the most important factor is that the transition between zoom levels is fluid, as it is in Sins of a Solar Empire. I find that pressing a button to bring up a map at a different zoom level is momentarily disorienting, since it requires me to figure out where I was in relation to the previous zoom level. In contrast, having a fluid transition between zoom
Not a single unit in the game has the range to warrant zooming out as far as the camera was doing in the video. I don't understand why people want MEGA ZOOM from this game when there are plenty of other games that do it.
It's not about the range of any given unit, it's the scale of many of the maps. It's one thing on tiny 2 player maps; the zoom is fine there. But trying to figure out the

Most of my friends are primarily interested in multiplayer, but will only play if a greater zoom level is possible. If we are able to play modded unranked multiplayer together, that would be great!
Did you try DX11?
Any insight into this at all? Even a rough estimate would be great!
Back in November Frogboy stated that the devs would be implementing an option in the settings.ini file that would enable users to set the max zoom level they want. https://forums.ashesofthesingularity.com/473013/page/3/#53 I was wondering if we can get an update on when this will be implemented? Thanks!

This idea is excellent! I'd love to see something like this added. It seems very functional, yet without the clutter associated with having hundreds of icons that the devs want to avoid.
I haven't seen this issue personally (I have a 980ti as well). Have you tried updating your drivers? Or if you updated recently, have you tried rolling back to an older driver?
lije I've mentioned earlier in this thread, the benchmark shows this kind of zooming is already possible in the game, Would love to see it added!!
It should be added at some point. In November Frogboy stated that they would be making it possible for the user to set our own max zoom. Here's the post: https://forums.ashesofthesingulari
If you hit the space bar you can do that right now.
Speaking as someone who has studied perceptual psychology, there is a huge perceptual difference between moving via the strategic (space bar) map, and moving via zoom. Zoom emulates how we visually perceive movement in our optic array. For instance, global expansion (i.e. everything getting bigger) specifies forward movement of the individual, and
Although I do like to zoom out to get a strategic level view in Sup Com, I usually use zoom for a far more pedestrian reason: navigating the map. I start at one battle, quickly zoom out, and zoom in to the other location I want to look out. I'm constantly doing this, and I can't imagine playing the game without this ability. It's so hard to go back to RTSs that don't offer this.
&nbs
What I'd probably be inclined to do, at least for now, is make it settable in the settings.ini and see what expert players like you guys think without having to deal with the blow back from the guys who already think the game is too slow.
That sounds like a great idea to me, assuming we'll be able to keep that zoom setting in multiplayer.
Looks great! Personally, my desire to be able to zoom out so see the whole map is not for the sake of spending time playing at that level, but rather as a means of moving from one location to the next. Currently, I find the experience of moving around kind of jarring. Scrolling, double clicking on a control group, clicking on the mini map, or bringing up the strategic map with the space bar just doesn't feel very seamless, especially give the size of some of the maps.
