How do you regulate your economy during wartime? I was doing just great, then another civ declared war on me and I was holding just fine - no problems - but my entire economy and morale went to hell. I mean how am I supposed to build up a fleet to defend when the people won't even produce money or ships? I need advice on dealing with wartime...
This is great advice. Also, did Frogman change the AI so that it didn't cheat and know where all the yellow stars were at start? I find this gives us a huge disadvantage (giving the AI the ability to know where to colonize without having to explore).
I've played a few games, and won most of them, but they were all on beginner. I just upped the AI to Normal, and now I'm seeing massive differences I'm just 50 or so turns into the game and the computer already has a starbase with 3-4 upgrades and another 3 or so constructors on their way to upgrade it more - in my sector. How on earth did the computer get this far ahead? I'm still building my first 2 constructors - that and they have the highest population - more than 2x my empire.<
That's the confusing part - I study the economy screen in-depth and it says I have a net income of 100. I mean net is after expenses. So how come I don't gain 100 per round when it specifically shows 100 net after expenses? Sorry if I'm being brain dead on this :)
I understand the sliders, but it still tells me I have a net income of 100 with the current settings. How do I tell how much of that 100 is spent on other things? Thanks for the word on the 20+ worlds!
I am still baffled by the economy of this game. Right now, I have a starting CIV with 116 income and 16 expense - yet every month, I either gain no money, or I'm in the hole. It makes no sense - what's the cause? Another question - how come I NEVER get a 20+ size planet? The other races always have them and the only way I can get them is to conquer, etc. Any ideas on this? Also, are there any good 'overview guides' on playing the game? Thanks!
Just finished my first game, and got the alliance technology, but I saw no way of establishing an alliance. How do you do this? It never showed up in the treaty window. Could it be that none of the others had alliance? What's required? Thanks!
I just picked the game up today and am enjoying it quite a bit, but now that my game is really 'deep' into it, the client will crash to desktop with no error at all, and it's happening more and more now. Any ideas?
