Help!. I know the issues with Firefox etc. I am using Windows Explorer, with the Dell standard package of MacAfee. I have disabled the firewall, and even disable the virus protection. I also use Windows defender, could that be an issue?

Since 1.1 is now almost official, I thought I would start posting to the metaverse. But I can't seem to create a character, my account is there, but I don't know what is happening as I see no option for character creation, just character editing? Is this because I downloaded and played the demo, and first installed into the demo directory when I first bought the retail version. I has since deleted my first install and everything is in my ...programfiles/stardock/tot

I currently use a 19 inch monitor (1024 x 1280) rotated into portrait mode and a CRT 19 inch monitor next to it with my windows desktop extended onto it. Does GalCiv2 support this? I mean I know I can run the game in windowed mode now on the one monitor and run other programs, on the 2nd monitor, but can I actually have the game on both monitors? It would be great to have the colony planet list or stardock screen open on the other monitor

Just thought you guys should now. Just installed the 4B? todays patch from SDC. I use windowed 1024 x 1280 portrait mode on my 19 inch Dell 1905 monitor. It has been working fine. I had to originally modify my pref.ini to get it to work because 1024x1280 was not an option on my game option screen. But everything has been working well. When I went to play today after the patch update, it switched into a funky screen

Try cinematic mode first 1/2 speed . Turn off the stats and guess at what is going on. The top 1 or top 2 mode to get an overview. Turn the stats on. Then use the free camera mode with click and drag to rotate the battle so that you can see the lines ofo ships approaching each other. These views make it look more like a death ballet. I admit it still looks a little silly, but at 1/2 speed the weapons look cool

Alfonse The beta seems very stable from what I have read and from from my own 20hours + of experience, with some slowdowns being the bigggest issue. Frogboy has said this is basically close to release, so feel free to jump on in. The 1.1 beta is definately a much better game than the officially released version. By the way Stardock, thanks for the ship manager tweak.....

When the fleet HP exceed 100, the moves left in the fleet is not shown. The Moves::... is blank. I would rather see the Mpves than the Log points as I can already see that on the ship icons. How about moving HP up one line where Logistics is, moving Moves to the left where HP is and moving Logistics to where Moves is??? or abreviating Logistics to Log??? I am using 1024x1280 portrait resolution with a rotated 19 monitor.

I have sent recent bug reports and I am using a Pentium D 820 dual processer system with AA down to 4. I seems that combining ships into fleets is very slow. I am using the Terran fleet mod pack on my ships, could that be it? Or is anyone else having this problem, I am playing on a large map, with plenty of ships out there, but sometimes it is taking 30 or more seconds to combine ships or to move ships on the manage screen. It s

try viewing the battles at half speed. ANd try all all the views restarting each on to find the views that you like. it is a strategy game after all, so I like the self execution of the battles. I like the way the battles look, especially on the ones I am unsure of with mixed fleets. Try this sequence. Hit half speed. Run a cinematic battle view with the info off and guess what is happening. Then hit a top 1 or top 2

Galciv I user from MOO insert. Followed development from game sites. Brad, before you fall in deep waters, remember that the data from this poll is not a random sample of your game buyers and is unscientific. The sample is not random, but self selected, and has a ton of possible bias elements. It may be a valid sample of your forum users (gee heavy internet users mostly heard about you from game sites, how shocking!) but may be absolut

I liked the ad, but I thought it could use even More Text! ie., a list of features like full 3D modeling, AI features, number of races, a list of features in bullet points can be placed in a corner of the ad, where it really doesn't detract from the artwork, but can be there for people to read if they want to. A footnote should be added so that people can see that these are actual in game graphics or ship models. Infinite zoom fe

(Pardon the doublepost , but I wrote this on another thread but I think it was more appropriate here) What you have here is one of the reasons that many of us LOVE Stardock. Brad the HMFIC there has had the philosophy that dedicated customer support through continued work on the released software works to everybodys advantage. Had an issue when I was using the GalCiv2 windowblinds desktop (from the Galciv2 downloads page) that the game would not work on my ATI Radeon 600 card. WOuld completely freeze up, with slow mouse movement. Once I switched back to the regular windows desktop theme all was well. Also the ATI Catylst driver suite did a similar thing, I had to roll back to the Dell driver set for the ATI card, (which were updated in Feb 06) for the
