I'm sure my lack of installation knowledge is a good reason for all this trouble. I'm the sort of person that needs every single aspect of something clearly explained before I can feel fully confident in pursuing it. I don't understand all the file transformations or whatever you call it that I have to do with loading a new theme. Perhaps I missed something important... I wish this was easier, and almost no one out there wants to explain it all to you clearly and step by step. <img src="http://

I have a simple question regarding Linux. Let's say, for example, I am at the Linux-Mandrake website and wish to download a version of Linux. I am curious what happens when I download the OS. Does it automaticly replace Windows? What happens to Windows? Can I switch instantly between Linux and Windows? Any information is appreciated. I am running Windows 98 Second Edition, if that helps any. Thanks
Hmm... Well, I certainly didn't mean to cause this unnecessary debate. In my case, I've never liked the cold appearance of Windows on my desktop (I prefer the clean new mac desktop appearance). So when I found the shell section of Wincustomize, I was ecstatic. I looked for a clean, white and glassy appearance for a windows shell, and found one. But when I applied the theme, the problem that created this topic occurred. Well anyway, I will use the DOS process to try and fix my computer w
.Well, I wont be home for a couple of days. So I'll try it then... thanks for the instruction Jafo
I'm running Windows 98 Second Edition. I don't have extensive knowledge of these things, so I have no idea how to rectify the problem. I'm desperate for help!
I have no boot disc or any disc for my Windows. I'm running Windows 98 Second Edition. I don't have extensive knowledge of these things, so I have no idea how to rectify the problem. I'm desperate for help!
After applying a certain Litestep theme, all my windows bars disapeared. Clicking the mouse does nothing, and the keyboard does nothing (Except for the CTRL-ALT-DELETE function). I do not have the windows disc (My windows version is 98 SE), so I cannot reinstall windows... or at least I don't know how to without the disc. I don't want my computer to be gone forever (Obviously), so.......any help? This is terrible. I'm on a friend's computer right now.
I downloaded Litestep and a theme for it that I found on Wincustomize. When I applied the theme in the Litestep program, all of my windows bars disapeared. Now all that remains is my wallpaper image, and nothing else. Clicking the mouse does nothing, and the keyboard does nothing else except for the CTRL-ALT-DELETE function, and using that does nothing. I'm on a friends computer now. Someone please help me! What can I do?? I think my computer is done for...
