Shak...I understand that CTD is Crash To Desktop (at least thats what is happening to me). I followed your instructions to the letter but have found that after I uninstalled and then reinstalled (including reboots) and I started SDC the Bonus Pack was already installed...I could only update the Multimedia and the GalCiv files. I dislike to be the fly in the ointment...I'm having CTD problems with 1.05.71. My SDC is build 16 and I have even uninstalled and reinstalled twice now. I'm really into this game but kinda think that I shouldn't update every time there is a new version availiable as I cannot seem to get it working in a stable fashion now. I have the retail version? does that make a diffrence at all in the update, CDT thing? (as you can see my computer knowledge (or lack there of) here might be

I am facing frequent CTD since upgrading to 1.5! I have uninstalled all then reinstalled, I have the latest version of SDC even...still no joy! My debug file has this error several times ASSERT ERROR in file G:\PROJECTS\pear\SOURCE\MWIN.CPP at line 397. Is there a way for me to fix this? Uninstall then reinstall didn't work (I tried twice). Note this is the retail version. (if that matters at all)
After I rename a system and switch to planet view the names of the planets still relate to the OLD names??? Am I doing something incorrect here? or do prior settled planets in a system retain their old names? (I hope not makes the planet view kind useless to me)
Thanks for the posts so far... Is their any 'killer improvements' at chaotic good or good? Or are all the cool things reserved for the saints among us???
What rating do you need to be considered good? 60? And how can you increase your Good rating after all planets have been colonized? As choosing the good choice when presented it when colonizing has been the only way I have been able to change my rating! Plz any advice would help! I have a 59 neutral rating and am trying hard to be good!
David, The same thing just happened to me...destroyed the last non-ally and poof Cultural Victory. Although the last civ was 2nd ranked as far as culture was concerned...I wonder if taking them out pushed me over the top and I did actually win via culture. I like to think that I won by both culture and allied victory!
