Wow. You have really seemed to address all of the issues that I thought this game might have. I like this more and more each time I read your journals. Keep up the good work! I like the idea of quests that you are updating as you release new versions. That is a pretty cool reason to come back and play the game after you update the game again. It might make it fresh again if you have taken quite a bit of time off, and you have had a

Having an easy to use and intuitive UI is probably the most important "small thing" that makes a game better. Another thing is to have an opening tutorial that not only teaches you the basics of how to play the game, but is intriguing enough to play through it and have fun while doing it. The second point goes on to the third, which is to have the campaign slowly introduce you to all elements of the game, allowing you to learn how to play th

I want my paladins to keep their holy sword instead of getting the new flaming swords, but I want my knights to make use of the new technology. I select UPGRADE on the knight template, move in the flaming sword, and save the template. New knights will be built with flaming swords.&n

BoogieBac, since we are on the topic of game development; what is the ETA for a playable level of the Christmas Game? I thought the last few playable parts were pretty cool, and it looked like you had most of it all set up. Kryo, your asteroid game looks pretty cool. I can't try it out due to the limitations of using XNA game studio, but I can say it is better than the best space game that I wrote when I was a kid. (The best one was called 2012, where you were a figh

No, I didn't finish...last stumbling block was learning TorqueX to make a version that worked on the XBox and PC. Someday my CHristmas Opus will be released, but for now we'll have to settle for those playable flash bits.
I am glad to have brought a smile to your face. Now that you have
If I recall, in EU: Rome (and I think EU3: In Nomine as well) they added rules to prevent the common problem of a continually running stack. If an army twice its size routed it in less than five days (and armies can't retreat voluntarily for the first five days) then the smaller army would be destroyed. That was to prevent having to detach a large army to continiously chase down those annoying 1-2K armies that just refused to die.<br

Are you going to hire some good writers for the main story. The GalCiv2 story had a good basis, but it ended up being pretty poorly written in practice. I think you should get some professional writers to help spruce things up, so they are a little more 'readable', and flow better with the actual gameplay this time around. Just my two-cents. I don't mean to be insulting at all, I just don't think that story writing is your strongsuit.

On the last mission for Dark Avatar, I noticed that as soon as I came accross more than 4 other civilizations, I could no longer remove spies from the espionage tab. You can add them, but when you click on remove it just moves you to the next page. Once I destroyed one of the factions, I could then begin to remove spies again (probably since there are only enough factions to fill a single page.)

If the main city screen says "9 turns" to build a unit, a tooltip or other second-level screen should make the various components of that time visible so that I can consider taking any action to improve the situation (e.g., changing a caravan route or researching a t

Europa Universalis was a game where Morale was huge for your armies. You could outnumber the enemy 2 to 1, and still get routed, because they would break up and 2/3 of your troops would run away when they were attacked. It also made it difficult to completely destroy an enemy, because they would continuously retreat whenever they were losing the battle.

After a long vacation, I have reinstalled GC2, and I have an issue with the game crashing. After some unknown amount of time (15-20 minutes maybe) the game will go into strange mode. All of the planets will start rotating insanely fast on the plaet screen, and all the ships will do the same in the shipbuilder mode. If you go into a full battle, then all the ships in the battle will bind together at the center and rotate together causing the game to lock up. The map wil

I just purchased the expansions on Impulse, and downloaded them, but I recieved activation errors in the form of a text document each time I did so. I am able to play the game, but does this mean that I will not be able to update the games? I did buy the games under a seperate e-mail address than my username is linked to (Which has caused problems with me before, but I did it again because I was in a hurry and forgot.)
