A friend of mine had the same problem, I was able to solve the problem for him to directly start the Ashes_DX12.exe. By default, Ashes of the Singularity is installed to the following location: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Ashes of the Singularity DirectX11: Ashes_DX11.exe DirectX12: Ashes_DX12.exe

I was hoping to find an answer here if I would be able to run Ahes of the Singularity since I've got an older rig.
