It has now been 3 days and I have yet to receive any response. I cannot play the game for some reason and can't return it either. My machine has never had any problem like this with any other game (including other Stardock titles). If this is not the proper place to seek technical support please tell me where else I should go?

My CD Rom drive is a Samsung CDRW/DVD SM-352B. Is this likely a problem with "copy protection"?

Some further info about my setup: geforce FX 5900. DirectX 9.0c and I have not yet installed service pack 2 for XP (everyone says to wait).

Addendum: I attempted to reinstall the game without the patch and the same error results. My computer is an Alienware, less than a year old, exceeds all listed requirements and runs windows XP. I have also rebooted the machine to no avail. The demo was uninstalled prior to the installation. I'm really confused by this error as I have only one login to XP so what sort of administrator privaleges is it even asking for? Please help!

The other day I tried the demo, liked it and bought Political Machine today. I installed it and then updated to 1.1. When I attempted to start the game I recieved a popup saying "Access Denied: Please login with administrator privileges and try again" I have never seen this before. Any advice?

I understand that you can play multiplayer online. Can you play multiplayer on the same computer? I looked over the box and website and could not find this information.

Planetary Dependent Funding... in Galactic Civilizations I Stardock Forums

Perhaps I haven't figured it out yet (the manual wasn't to detailed), but is there a way to have a planet just build ships or tech? The way it seems now we have a galactic slider that puts all planets on the same funding level, but often I have ship improvements on just a couple of worlds and would like to devote their funding to building ships while other planets do research. If there is no way to do this now, perhaps it could be added in the expansion? A related question is:
