Any respect I had for Ron Paul died off when he couldn't even summon the testicular fortitude to outright refuse donations from the Stormfront yokels. Completely spineless. This should have been an issue that took about 5 milliseconds to conclude. Instead he f*cked around for days waiting for his staff to "come to some sort of decision". Not exactly Presidential caliber decision making. Of course rejecting the Stormfront folks might mean they would stop spamming websites and o

Second, open-mindedness and humility would get those two "should's" close enough to satisfy both sides. Of course that needs selfless groups. Groups, by the nature of the word itself implies selfishness on behalf of the group at least. This is the essence of tribalism/nationalism. Humility just allows the last hold-out group to take advantage of the groups who caved before them. The rest of the world understands this. We in the very comfy US ten

Do what you like, but generally speaking it is considered pretty bad form to spam-post 7 articles of unformatted text in as many minutes. If you don't use carriage returns or paragraph breaks anyways why not just post all seven sections in one article? That way you aren't spamming JU with "recently posted" articles. Addtionally, if you want people to read anything you post a few breaks in the body of the text will help you towards your goal. Forma

Change your IE View settings to "Unicode" and they become normal again. For somereason IE doesn't auto-sense them correctly on some pages. That said, I think that at some point int he future maket forces will precipitate the changes in our infrastructure that are required. After all, it is market forces driving the changes in Dubai right now.

While I have been gone for quite a while it is nice to come back and see a well written article. Frankly it is nice to see that someone realizes that this group of folks simply can't make up it's collective mind because it doesn't have a collective mind. If ideologically homogenous groups in towns and cities can't agree on local policy then they certainly won't achieve consensus nationally across heterogenous ide

*For those wondering about my long absence: See the end of the article. -GW Expertise in technical and combat fields should be a top priority for any Army. For the U.S. Army it simply isn't. The institution doesn't value it and your security as a citizen is put at risk by this fact.

Record labels think pirating music is theft. Record labels also seem to think that giving away music you made is also theft since they don't get a cut. Just look at the latest kerfuffle over Prince allowing a newspaper to give away his new CD: "The Entertainment Retailers Association said the giveaway "beggars belief". " It would be an insult to all those rec

I have been thorugh many an on/off period with JU. Sometimes I come back stronger and sometimes weaker. Right now I am in a weak phase. Whereas I used to write drunk and angry (which made the pieces much better and more fun to read) I now write sober and I am not nearly as angry. Hard to say if I will be able to shift styles and get back to writing things people will want to read. It is hard to do anything consistently over years and JU is no different.

Wow, thats pretty unusual. Good read too. I hope it works out for her but my inner pessimist tells me it likely will not.

Anyone know how to start a new blog group? It used to be a feature under "My Account" IIR but it seems to have gone away. *Edited for a title typo. I have no idea what a "blgo" might be but it isn't what I wanted to ask about.

Ahhh Mitt get's the coveted COL Gene "Kiss of Death" endorsment. Standing at the polls the one thing that will guarantee a candidate will not get a vote is the fact that COL Gene liked them. (Note to the COL : Endorsing everyone but Hillary might help elect her).

Best. Article. Ever. In some ways it is a shame that we don't put people like Peason in the stocks anymore. A few days in the public square with a "Ridiculous Fucksheep" sign on his neck would do wonders to discourage this sort of thing.

There is a huge difference between kids playing and kids with no boundaries, limits, or rules. I'd need to hear more of the story - both sides of the story - before I made my final decision that this was irrational. Here, here! Well spoken Bruce. It is telling that the neighbors in this case took to makig audio tapes of the kids and this was what finally got the cops to do something about it but without being there it will be pretty hard to say

They are kids for Christ sake. And they have parents for Christs's sake! If people don't really like the noises kids make they should move to places where children are not allowed. Really? You buy a house in a neighborhood, a neighbor moves in who refuses to actually discipline their kids within societal norms and it is somehow *your* responsibility to move away? Do you ac

Gitmo is simply a symbol of America's fear. Yes, I mean really, what is there to fear from terror right? How inexcusably silly of us to fear people who respond to cartoons, films, and knightings with murder, violence, and threats of more of both. Come on people, just put your heads back in the sand and all of it will just go away naturally. No one wants to hurt you. Eurasia has always been our ally.

He's banning bloggers? Honestly no... this event was a supposed to be "no press" which meant "no bloggers" to his staff. Many of his events have had bloggers at them before. I think this is a case of overzealous and underinformed staffers making decisions without the candidate's foreknowledge.

Apparently I am a member of the press. So are most of you reading this according to barack Obama's campaign folks who turned away Jerid of Buckeye State Blog from an event that was "closed to the press". Note that this guy was not turned away because he had a major blog like the Daily Kos or Instapundit but simply because he stated that he had a blog . Where is the li
