The only way I would support a flat tax is if it was the same across *all* income levels and allowed *zero* tax breaks for anyone or anything. What is good for me is good for Bill Gates is good for the guy at the grocery checkout line.

Now that I have your attention let me tell you why. For a large chunk of my time in the US Army I have been legally married. Due to this lifestyle choice the Army has treated me far differently than they treated unmarried soldiers. My rent and utilities are paid.

Couch - while I agree with your assessment, at this point the people who are vaguely dissatisfied about the lack of WMD's need to be shown the actual stockpile and not the calculations that show that they must exist. Gerry - The story as reported in the Washington Times was mainl concerned with the flag waving aspect of it although I am certain you are correct that they were admonished against other more over-the-top types of displays such as the one you reported seeing in Sydney. As I said earlier, I do not think we should be overly provacative but we should feel no more restraint in celebrating than any other nation who participates.
