Just a follow-up to this post . Cisco had in fact been in negotiations with Apple for a long time over the iPhone name and was prepared to make them a deal so Apple could use it. Cisco was extremely surprised by Apple's unveiling of the phone when they hadn't closed the deal though. As I said earlier I think this will cost Apple a bunch of cash and will likely delay the launch of their phone unless they rena

that way the people that want it can get it and the people that don't want it don't have to pay for it Absolutely. If this crap had been in the box to begin with (meaning the price would have been higher) I wouldn't have bought one. This is one major reason I haven't bought a PS3 (despite massive supply now), frankly I don't wan't or need a b

The difference is that TA is making a value judgement about the worth of the two people's income. Obviously (to him) the person making more doesn't deserve to keep the same percentage of his income as others. It should be taken from them forceably and given out as transfer payments to the guy making less money who somehow deserves a greater portion of the other one's income.

An interesting, worthy debate. BRITAIN DOES HAVE ISLAMIC TERROR and it is homegrown. Could any of you explain why this is? Fair question but I will probably trry and tackle it in another post as this one has become long and rambly already (not to mention the oncoming staleness of the thread). I will probably also wait until I have posted some rti

Gideon - Solid article and some fine points. The problem also has to do with something that you brougth up near the end : I could save even more if I could get other members of the community to join with me in a concerted effort to do so. Therein lies the rub. Some (possibly even many) low-income families fight this sort of

Interesting follow-up. I have to wonder why Apple is going this direction with it though... Cisco has got to be asking for a substantial amoun of money for the rights to this... Wouldn't PohPhone or even iPodPhone or somethign similar have been a lot more cost efficient? I understand that "iPhone" would be a greta name for the product but I don't think a name change ould have cost their product more in sales than this deal with Cisco will. In fact I would wager that by unveiling the phone wi

Full Disclosure : I am not a Christian, Muslim, Jew, Shintoist, Buddhist or adherent of any religion whatsoever (unless beer is a religion?). Are we extending the term "hate crime" to include inanimate objects? More importantly are we extening it to include only non-christian inanimate objects? Did he? I don't see any there that aren't tied directly to Afghanistan or other Middle Eastern terrorists. So theyonly qualify if they are Americans completely isolated from the rest of the Islamic world?

I "pooh-poohed" clinic bombings? How about reading the article? I already know the KKK does the first two and I condemn them roundly, wholeheartedly, and think them revolting criminals. Ditto for morons who blow up abortion clinics and shoot at physicians. I guess that is "pooh-poohing" if you disagree with me then?

ETA and the TT are ruthless terror gangs that rank right beside Al-Qaeda but have much less scope. The Mexico City bombings are also to be condemned even though as yet they don't know who exactly did it. If I went back weeks and took time I'm sure I could find lots and lots of attacks around the world that weren't purpetrated by Muslims <br/

Individual PT will never be a reality in an Army that doesn't believe in individual responsibility.

You're a hypocrite about it, though, because when Christian blows up an abortion clinic you don't assume the problem is Christianity. Actually I do. There are simply lots fewer folks doing this than there are suicide bombers who are Islamic. Believe me, I have no love for any religion. For me to be a hypocrite not only would I have

I already have an iPhone. I have had it for two weeks already. Yupper, sitting right on my desk at home. "How can that be?" you might ask, since Steve Jobs only announced the iPhone today at Macworld 07 ? I will tell you how. Apple doesn't, didn't, and likely won't ever make a product called iPhone. Cisco and it's subs

Would it make you feel better if I put (Wahabbi) in front of every reference to Islam? Is that what we are quibbling over here? Am I then "vilifying" Wahabbism? It would be freaking shocking if terrorists there were Christian.

He would love to have you believe it was all fake. I can't count the times I have had this conversation : "We are a religion of peace.. if only those dirty Jews would let us be that is... all the deaths you see were of Mossad agents."
