Crash to desktop in Galactic Civilizations I Stardock Forums

I have been having a problem with the last release with a crash to desktop. There is no error message or anything in my system error log to explain it. I am playing, flicker, desktop. This is normally hideously rare except when i destroy a colony, if I do that then its almost guaranteed to crash within a couple turns. Anyone else experiencing this problem? ~SDC~
