Yes, Xrati. I feel kinda dumb that I din't realize that... thank you. The custom map is there now.

I just began experimenting with ToA's map editor and I created my first map, i have figured out the basics of it but I have run into a couple of problems that I have tried to look up solutions for but haven't found a post that addresses it. 1. I created new opponents using each major race as a beginning refference point, I created custom ship styles for each and gave them different empire logos, leader portraits, and of course names. The problem comes when I try to assign a "Homeworld
I am not 100% sure but I think military starbases grant attack and defense bonuses to your ships if they are within it's zone of influence, so you won't see the starbase fire during your tactical combat view, instead your ships will have the attack and defense boosted according to wich module you have upgraded on your starbase. Although it would be cool to see attacks from nearby starbases in tactical sceen... maybe enven a representation of a far away station with a mniature starbase in the
Created my first test map on the Map Editor and saved it as MyMap.GC2Map under "Documents/My Ganes/GC2TwiligntArnor/CustomMaps/..." but when I start a new game and select Custom Maps, my map doesn't appear in the drop down menu, am I missing a step, or am I doing something wrong? some help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for pointing that out to me, MrKorx. I'll give understanding XML a whirl.
Anyone know if there are any tutorials on how to use the new editors that came with TA? I figured out how to use the Map Editor because it's the most straight forward and simplest of the editor tools, but the rest: tech tree editor, modules editor, etc... are out right confusing for a non-uber-modder like me, I have no idea how to go about it or what are the limits to them, any tutorials on how to use those would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
Thank you very much Kryo that worked *bows worshipful* I am not worthy...
I want to point out that the game itself does not give me a crash Error messate, the screen flickers black 3 or 4 times, as if it's going to start the game and them back to desktop rapidly, then it just hangs at the desktop with the task on the windows bar at the bottom and a partial black screen covering my desktop, I have to Right Click then Close the program that way, or it just stays there. But here is the Debug ERR file right after my last attempt to launch it... D
Having a problem with ToA, when I click on my ToA shortcut on my desktop the screen flickers black in and out of desktop and then hangs at a black screen, I have to close the program from menu bar and It tells me that Twilight of the Arnor has stopped working, Odd thing is that I can launch DA no problem but ToA won't launch at all. I have Vista, on a Dual Core, Gforce 7600 and ToA v1.96.
Has anyone ever changed the way Starbases look? If so I'd like to know how I could do it. For example I like the look of the Economy starbase, I'd like to make all my starbases look like it but ofcourse retain their original purpose ie: Military & Influence but have them all look like the Economy one.
I wonder if it's possible to change or bring in the Dark Avatar style Planet Invasion screen into Twilight... I liked DA's animations better... Any ModMaster think it's possible? "Scotty! Scotty! I need warp speed!"
First off let me say that I love the new features and upgrades that came with TA, all except one... the Planetary Invasion animations in TA are not nearly as exciting to watch as the ones in DA. The old invasion screen was a dramatization of the combat, while the new invasion screen is more of a representation of what's happening on the planet surface. I was expecting the animations in TA to go one better than DA, like it did in all the other game features. In any
Upgraded drivers to 101.41, I managed to select and create a new game from the main menu a couple of times, after the 3rd try same crash, same error. Not really a big deal, as long as I restart the game from desktop I can always create a new game, now if I get a crash during gameplay I will post that debug.err log. hopefuly 101 will keep it from crashing during gameplay.
Ok here is another form of crash that I get, when trying to select "New Game" from the main menu, this crash only happens when I have previously setup a custom game, if I restart the game and select "New Game" there is no crash. Also in my Windows shortcut bar I receive the message: "Display Driver nvlddmkm has stopped working and has successfully recovered" Debug.err as follows for this crash...(This game setup had custom races) Debug Message: Version v1.6 beta 6 Dark Avatar
I have 1.6 Beta DA, but the game keeps crashing on me every autosave, the only error message that I get is that "Glactic Civilizations 2: Dark Avatar has stopped working, Windows will close this program and notify you if a solution is available for this problem." kind vague... but sometimes the game will run fine, others... it will crash at every autosave, have tried running the game on every Windows environment, so far Windows XP (Service Pack 2) and Vista have been the most stable, but now it
Where can I get version 2.0 for Dread Lords?
I still have V1.5 where do I get the 2.0 patch? can't get it by updating the game from the "Update Game" button in the launch screen
First off let me express my L ve for GCII, it is all I have ever hoped for in a space strategy game, on all aspects... gameplay, graphics and features. Having said this, there are a few features that I would love to see included in the expansion if not a patch... 1. Scalable Planet And Ship Sizes (In Game): To have an option in the game setup as to how big or small you would like
