is this game REALLY hard or is it just me? in Galactic Civilizations I Stardock Forums

Now, I'm an experienced gamer, lots of Civ, CM, fps, etc. But I find this game very hard. I can win on the easiest level (or maybe the second easiest, can't remember), but I lose on every other level. I read on the forums how to grow your population quickly, but it basically seems that at least 1 of the enemy quickly gets more influence then me, then eventually 1 of them will attack, followed by the others. I have them all set on ultra-good hoping they would be more diplomati
