hello, The same thing is happening to me, except that the game actually booted when I first ran version 1.03a. As soon as I shut down the system and rebooted, the game went back to crashing to desktop. I am using the ATI 9500Pro, Audigy2, Directx 9.0 and the 1.03a version of the game. ~SDC~
The same thing happens to me. I have updated sound drivers, installed DirX9, installed the Galactic Civ patch. I checked ATI for drivers and they said not to install new drivers unless problem is mentioned in the notes, or something to that effect. When I downloaded the patch 1.03 for Gal Civ, the game worked until I shut off the computer. When I started the system up again, crash to desk top every time. I am almost out of ideas for solving this problem. I would like to shut off the Audigy2 Soun
