I personally think people are actually closer to who they pretend to be online...at least at first.If they are part of a community long enough ,and start to care how they are percieved,they will tend to judge the atmosphere of the group and bend towards conformity more. That leads to hiding sometimes what they are truly like. I believe this is why forums should be almost moderat
