SirBruce: this is why I originally requested a color blindness help *option*. By no means do I want it to change for everyone; I realize that many people probably like the colors as they are. However, Civilization 3 had an option that you could toggle on or off that would help those with trouble distinguishing colors. That's what I want: the option to make the game more enjoyable for myself. ~SDC~

Yeah, that would probably work. I'm hoping this is taken care of sooner rather than later; it would make the diplomacy screen less frustrating for me.
You don't have to delete the files, necessarily. You could just disable them by changing their names slightly. For example, change CoreEvents.event to x_CoreEvents.event, and the game won't be able to read from it anymore. If you ever want to turn the events back on, just get rid of your prefix. It's the same method you would use to disable the intro movies.
Wow. I honestly didn't expect this many replies. It's definitely good to know that I'm not alone here, though. Cari: I'm not sure that red and green would be a whole lot better. I'd personally prefer something like white or blue, though others may not share this preference. It would be nice if this were easily modifiable on a personal level, so that we could all adjust the colors to whatever we wanted them to be. ~SDC~
Yesterday, my fiance was playing GalCiv, and noticed that in the diplomacy screen, the text color of your offer changes from green to yellow, depending on whether the alien race is likely or unlikely to accept your offer. I think this is a great idea, but there's just one problem: I can't tell the difference between the two colors. I didn't notice this feature until it was pointed out to me, and now that I know about it, I still have to ask my fiance to tell me whether the text is yellow or gr
This has probably been asked before. At any rate, here's my question: in the planetary build queues for military and social production, is there any benefit at all to choosing 'nothing'? I've played around with it a little, and it seems like if you're not building anything, you're just wasting your money because it gets spent anyway. It seems to me that, if you have a planet not building anything on the military queue, one of three things should happen: 1. Your military spending shou
I've noticed that some civs are more receptive to trade than others. For instance, I managed to get a completely even trade (Propulsion Theory for Industrial Theory) with the Torians, but when I offered a similar trade to the Altarians, they turned their noses up at it. It may have been because I was closer in alignment to the Torians, although my relations with the Altarians were considerably better. Combine that with the fact that I had a +80% Diplomacy bonus, and I'm not sure why the Altar
Ok, I've posted this on the bug report thread, but I wanted to post it out here to see if I could get a response from people who have had the same or similar problems. Here are the bugs I'm experiencing: 1. The built-in MP3 player doesn't seem to work properly. I've loaded a playlist, but the track display at the bottom just keeps on cycling through the tracks at high speed, not playing any of them. I've had this playlist loaded for about 4 hours, but have yet to hear a song play. B
Alright, I'm using 1.04, and I'm having a couple of minor problems. 1. The MP3 player doesn't seem to be working correctly. I loaded a playlist yesterday, I've played for four hours or so since then, and I have yet to hear a song. It just keeps on cycling through the tracks at break-neck speed, not playing any of them. 2. The scroll bars for military and social projects seem to have stopped working. Yesterday they worked fine. However, I loaded the game up today, and was un
