What am I missing? in Galactic Civilizations I Stardock Forums

Hello everyone. I bought the game last week and jumped right in. I played a few different games at different difficulties. Basically I decided I wanted to research everything to see the results. What really caught my eye was Star Creation and Galaxy Creation. I put some seroius hours into playing to get to these tech levels... Is there something I'm missing?
