Nice pick-up, Paul..........to use another British phrase related to your use, in the first instance.........I would say your 'find' is "the dogs bollocks" [e digicons]|-)[/e]
You did well on the Saab repair, Paul........I'm assuming it was the Saab.........They are normally quite pricey to put right. [e digicons]|-)[/e]
These sort of sneaky tactics may not be confined to Google Chrome, as pointed out by various experts, when you read more on this subject matter from around the net..........FF, Pale Moon etc could well all be in the firing line too........with their extensions/add-ons...............IE seems like the best bet from a Security point of view. As I mentioned in another thread, I like IE11.........if it could render its fonts properly and if it was compatible with all websites.......which it certai
Not sure using Chrome at all is a good idea until the problem is solved. I check my computer once a week...and no baddies (signature based). Going heuristic might be a solution. By the way, if they're doing this to Chrome, who says the rest are safe?
Doc...........most AV/malware software will not detect this sort of stuf

Don't know about your Fences issue.........but I'm running 8.1 with IE 11 and the Wincustomize website runs fine for me. Very snappy but I hate how IE 11 renders the fonts on every web page, not just WC. They are very blurry so I too, have switched back to Chrome. When will Microsoft so something with their font rendering???.........It's pathetic............IE 11 is very fast and a great browser but the 'font bleed' is awful.
Interesting that you 'turned' your nephew, Starkers..........My two IT guys were 'nay sayers' a few weeks ago and they got a a couple of licenses and now you'd have to break their arms to take 8.1 off them............ Jim...........sounds like you are running the Star Ship Enterprise with all those rigs [e digicons]|-)[/e]
Yep, Starkers..........Everything flies faster on 8 on my rig...........No complaints here.
How much is MS paying you?
Not enough [e digicons];)[/e]

To me, it's refreshing and enjoyable to play with something new after 7...................plus all the Stardock apps are great add-ons and compliment the whole OS from both the 'eye candy' and productivity points of view.
Last weekend I took the plunge and put Windows 8 on my main machine and I must admit I am enjoying the experience. Admittedly, the Stardock apps make it even better..........but after week of finding my way around I can honestly say that the experience has been a good one. Things of note:- Fast boot time. Like the Start screen set-up. Some great apps although quality in some areas are lacking........hopefully that will improve. IE very very
