Querries by Frogboy
For example, WHEN should a computer player decide to go to war with you? .
As in reality (for neutral to Pure Evil morality AIs) when you have something they want and they have a realistic chance of getting it . . .
How many players should it go to war with and for what reasons?
This is a point of issue at the moment I guess because of the ease with which AIs can be perswaided to go to war with each other . .

TheQuack, I wondering the same myself . . . 375k is a strange benchmark for the new rank . . . I was thinking it would have been something more like 500k . . . definately no complaints from me though. Thanks for your praise numbtenor21, Admiral Sherbert and Evil Steve . . . Rainbird what size are you? How did you know mine? Mmmm . . . heya heres a thought, we can share our wardrobes! I have some clothes that don't fit me anymore (since I had a child) . . . hehe. I use
Thinking lateraly . . . (I'm no expert on the games flaws) you could give the collony to an ally . . . or even an enemy for 1 influence point? :D
Assuming your installation isn't corupted (worst case senario) install the update patches (1.05 and then 1.10) available from Stardock Central . . . this should fix almost all your problems . . .
doh! [Message Edited]
Personally I think culture is currently WAY overpowered for maso and pure military victories are damn near impossible.
I strongly disagree! Edit - erhm . . . um no wait a sec . . . oh, hehe, opps, I strongly agree! ;) . . . hehe how embarassing . . . [Message Edited]
Nand1 . . . well done! Neutral hey . . . mmm . . . ;)
Thanks Wombat . . . your an inspiration! :)
1. Once you start getting some ai planets to flip you can trade them back to the ai for absolutely exorbinant prices.
I forgot all about that! Excellent! The trade for frieghters idea is also excellent, kewl!
Now, PARTY IN RED SQUARE!
Are you sure you're an ANZAC Republican LavaLampMaster . . . or should I say commerade! These do gooder Capitalists won't know what hit them my communist brother . . . Spiciba! hehe . . . j/k. LOL [Message Edited]
vincible . . . maybe I do, my husband's work computer really cooks! Thanks for the info too . . . appreciate it.
I have a theory, Castro is a chick ! ! ! Albeit a seriously ugly one with an unfortunate congenital facial hair abnormality, but it all adds up doesn't it?
I never build frieghters unless I'm desperate for cash . . . and I only build social projects that improve my economy/moral as I need them. I always build Economic Exchanges (luv these ones I build them super early) Trade centers (appear too late in the game imho) and all the habbit improvements (soil, improved hab', terraforming and the terraformer (if I'm lucky)). . . all these have no maintaiance. Never bother with defences or ship improvement facilities (plan def', sys def
What operating system are you using? Just curious?
I try to keep minors around till end game so I have trade partners because I try not to build up any AI.Maybe this is what I'm doing wrong. Thanks again.
Yes thats it! AT least I thinks thats it :notsure: . . . hehe. I use the minors as stepping stones and bases for my cultural expansion, whereas you seem to have a respect/affinity for them, which is cool too. I know it's cruel but it saves time . . . and thier so easy to Ally/un-Ally/re-Ally with when the need s
It's, I think is a throw back to the older well know but never really fixed problem associated with destoying collonies . . . I still get it too! It's annoying . . . do you have an earlier save on standby, a pre-saved game? Mmm . . . send the game or Smart Exception log to CariElf, I'm sure she'd be very interested to have a look at it . . . good luck. Alternatively, just don't destroy the colony? I know thats no concilation though.
OK dokie . . . 1. Get a start in the 'middle' of the map (or as close as you can) 2. Make sure you have a nice Sol . . . PQ 19 or 20 (I'm pretty rough on my citizens early on) 3. Save the game 4. Load your saved game and build a couple scout, set spending to zero (reduces your own pop-ups) and scout out as far as your collony ships can go . . . draw a little star map if it helps you remember where the nearest good systems are . . . 5. If there are 5 o
Hehe . . . I was pretty suprized too! The trigger must be at around 375 000 . . . who would have guess it? :SURPRISED: Oh and "Yippie" for us ANZAC Republicans . . . we've collectively played 500 games together! Awesome! Great work everyone . . . and good luck Blue in your latest game, keep us posted . . . [Message Edited]
Black_Shade, we have different playing styles (I use Alliance and Cullture bombong alot and build no millitary) . . . all the same I clean up using Terror Stars (vile I know) but it takes less than an hour. A Gigantic Map takes anywhere from 4 hrs (my PB) to 7 hours. I probably average under 5 hours now . . . I try and keep the Dregeins around in all my games because for some strange reason I can steal alot of techs off them in the end game . . . makes a big difference . . .<br
Interesting . . . but more to the point, if I'm a size 14 does that make me a fatty? LOL
Kinda but not if you know what I mean. I ussualy take wicked colinizations options then peg it back to good from thier, the same event of which you speak gave me an instant loss a couple games ago, every system I had defected (over a dozen) had to laugh . . . served me right (1 hours work down the drain) . . . lol LOL
THanks Admiral SHerbert and Congratz LavaLampMaster . . . I never could understand that Galactic Map Stuff :) Heya I think I found the ultimate prize! WOOt :d yummy!
Um . . . it was me . . . you know how the Metaverse scores were stuck, well um, I thought if I rejoined it might unstick my score, I was frustrated . . . (gender sensitive logic) :( > > > At least now I have a clear conscience hehe ! :D
How many people think every nuclear armed country is "evil"?
It was Harry S Trueman's call (ill-advised or otherwise) . . . not the American People's. Mindyou, from that day forth any of the honor found in millitary conflict was lost for-ever . . . :(
Paguma . . . your right! That's the striking thing that occured to me when I played GC the first few times too. WT? Why the heck are they attacking me! The AI for an agressive millitary (all be it a bit Key Stone Chopish) I guess is easier to write than any other non violent tactic. However, the computer is a huge disadvantage since it still can't really use Star Bases effectively, for example . . . I gifted a Terror star to two advisery AIs right next to thier respective opposing plane
