I don't know about you but I can control AI ships as well - give them orders to move , was interesting way to defend my planet - send them away all the time

I DO have SmartException installed but all it does is just jenerating "empty" (CPU registers and type only) report. |I even reinstalled it - same sh#%#$% I believe it's related to the fact that I hav VS .Net 2003 installed and it's debuger catches the exceptions somehow (I am programmer too <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/smiles/Smile.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmid
Hm.. cycled on all settings , had a few crashed when number of planets set to "Rare" but not consistent ... Either it some combination of settings or first successful start "reseted" something , now in 99% of cases new game starts OK...
Finaly was able to start a game by selecting "Huge" galaxy and some other stuff on this page, don't remember which one was before , will test all
System crashes sometimes during exit (after pressing "Quit" in MainMenu) if game was already started. debug.err : ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Debug Message: Version v 0.28 (Beta 3 preview) last updated on: Tue Aug 30 15:58:55 2005 Debug Message: *********DXDiag info follows.********* System Info Time: 8/31/2005, 22:23:29 DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904)
In "SavedGames" box (you get there by pressing "Load game" in main menu) if you delete all save games you still have a line with a name of last game you deleted in it (without image) and if you click on it - cursor apears (but you can't enter any text). If you exit the game and reload then everything OK - no "extra" lines , "problem" apears only right after deleting all saved games.
I am unable to start new game at all. system crashes on pressing NEXT in "Choose oponents" screen Gere is content of debug.err : --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Debug Message: Version v 0.28 (Beta 3 preview) last updated on: Tue Aug 30 15:58:55 2005 Debug Message: *********DXDiag info follows.***

Hm... looks like I can't start a game at all after enemy selection screen I have a crash with same "empty" smart exception log ... Beta2 worked fine , Going to investigate more
.
Dobleclicking anywhere on "PICK YOUR RACE" screen causes a crash. System: Windows XP SP2 Pentium 4 3.0Ghz (HT) 800Mhz bus 1GB RAM dual channel (2x512MB) NVIDIA GeForce 6800GT 258MB Audigy 2 Pro sound card The only log that created follows : ------------------------------------------------- Stardock SmartException Logging Information ------------------------------------------- OS Version : Windows X
Oh... well ... going to sleep , will try it tomorrow
Cool , however it might be a good idea to put such thing as an option
Combat does not look too good , better then GalCiv1 of cause but I think we need to open full screen window with combat animations (or better rendered battle) each time ships/fleets engaged in combat.
It may be sound a bit strange but I really don't like the checkboxes used in GalCiv2 , rthe one like you can find in "options" and such I mean their meaning is hard to understend. Becouse on one hand they look like checkboxes so obiouse meaning if it "checked" then option is ON , but on the other hand the "x" thing drown inside checkbox makes you think the option is OFF (especially if its red colored). So I suggest to change it somehow, for
Good work guys ! Hope to see Beta 3 today However keep in mind you have to make GalCiv2 more "alive" , the GalCiv I was fun but it has to be more "eventfull" , the more animated cuts the better and it have to be unique animations each shown once per game or may be not at all in some games, repeating same animations over and over again makes it boring.
I preffer to assemble comp. by myself.
MOO2 idea .... I find it logical but somehow too limiting ... I think your idustry level - ability to produce a lot of ship is limiting enough no need to limit it by "logistics" tech . After all again - if one player have industry able to produce in X time let's say 1000 production "units" then he can build either 100 ships with cost of 10 "units" or 10 ships cost 100 "units" and this will make things "equal".
Aperently not. I contacted them and THIS EVERYONE HAVE TO KNOW : - Aperently you will have access only if you preorder game for tokens. Anyone who preordered game directly will NOT have access to beta !!!! Roman, Beta is currently closed on GalCiv II. In order to receive the Beta version of GC2, you must purchas
I am preordered beta but got only "Pre-Order Reference Number" how I am going from here to the serial number I will use to register Beta ?
Well if you look on the page then you can see that 2 images misslabeled : one that shows HYPERDRIVE IN DEVELOPMENT marked as "MAIN USER INTERFACE" and viseversa. Also first image in "Ships designs" does not show the big image if you click on it....
And I still think that Master of Orion I combat style was the best. It could have some improvments but I liked using bioweapons on planets Btw: jokes aside but I DO think that GC2 missing one crutual combat element - combat with planets , meaning an option to build "defence stations" or "planetary guns" or/and "orbital defences" and planetary shields and having ships to destroy them before trans
Hm... loved GalCiv I and Antares , just ordered GalCiv II to see the Beta The changes as it was described are all positive ones, hope new UI will not ruine everything (that I will see very very soon )
