Me too , just hope they do it and that they not start the same "it's not MoO it's a different game" routine like with GalCiv again if they will give different name.
Lord KiRon
You get insulted again It was not my intent. What I meant is that this was great features and people obiously wanted them. The point is that MoO had a lot of great features like this.
Completely agree MoO2 was "too stupid" to play , I guest if I wanted MP I would probably like it MP games are more like chess - all you need to enjoy them is a good partner ,while SP games ... you need a lot of things there to keep player interest. Basicly we have 2 "factions" here : SP fans (that liked origi
As long as you can control chances for event it game start up options - the more different evens the better.
Of cause "we will not see" tactical combat in GC2 - dev. stated that clearly. However the code developed for fleets batles is very easily can be "improved" to support tactical combat all that needed is a good tactical AI. So if we continue to "ask " for it long enough we might see it in GC3 even if developers resist
They probable were deciding what to develop next "GC2" or "MoM clone" and since they decided on GC2 the descussion ended. It could be nice if they could do both, they surtenly talanted team but they are only one team. Who knows, may be if sales of GC2 will go well they will be back to this idea and will develop GC3 in same time as MoM clone. (Hope they do not mind word "clone" but thats what people want).
n order to improve a tactical combat mode's AI you first need a tactical combat mode. Actaually thats what I and many people expected when we heard of fleets in GC2. Current fleet implementation is ... well ... like it or not "half way" to the tactical combat.

They just didn't have the commercial distrubition of MoO1, b Hey , what "commercial distribution" , I have to admit that back then the only means of "commercial distrubition" was a 2400 modem BBS I was just a kid and not sure that BSA and others already existed <img src="smiles/Smile.
We didn't add ship design and multiple playable races because we wanted to make the game more like MOO2. We added them because they're great features. Please do not feel ofended by this posts , that's exactly the point , its "great features" . The point is that a lot of people want some other "great features" to be "importered" <img src="
Hm... all the years I was playing MoO1 and MoM someone fogot to tell me that it was not strategic but tactical And you know what ? - I don't care - the games was fun to play ! About GalCiv ... I have both GalCiv1 and Altarian Prophecy and preordered GalCiv3 so I can play Beta 3a too. Great games. But the point is that if it was using more elements (even Tactical <
The best according to..whom? The MOO series revolves around tactical starship combat. Galactic Civilizations revolves around building a civilization. Tactical vs. Strategic. Well ask yourself why this thread is here and why this discussion come up each time, ask yourself why users "pressured" you so much to add ship design and ad
Well very simple - becouse MoO and MoO2 (personally preffer 1st) are the best so when you compare you have to compare to the best of the genre.
Galactic Civilizations is not Master of Orion Too bad I mean it shouldn't be exact copy of MOO , GalCiv have few interesting ideas and additions like cultural victory and such but in general personally I (and many of my friends) want just improved version o MoO .
Game released on net so it's same time for any country. If you preorder now on Totalgaming you can download Beta3 and in a month or so Beta4. Not sure about demo but knowing Stardock and Totalgaming it will be released.
As Funboy stated ion another thread - "it's strategic game. it will not be any tactical combat whatsoever" .
Why ? I believe the Funboy's idea is actually oposite - DO use dedicated planets ...
Man , Beta 3 was released 3 weeks ago , also 2 weeks ago Beta3a was released ...
Just save , exit GalCiv2 (completely) and hen start and reload.
It's not in beta 3 but it was in GalCiv: Altarian Prophecy. Have this too Belive me I am your fan About "Auto" button in MoO ... well I think it results depended on AI algorithm used to resolve the battle, now when computers
Thank you for Frogboy for your reply . I still sence a bit of bitternes in it from my questions, I am sorry if I "sounded" agressive and it triggered it but it was never my intent (however I did hoped this things to be in Game ). On your permition I will comment your answers a bit from my point of view I hope you still reading this Btw: To make things cl
There is no rivalry between galciv and SE. If both games are good we'll end up owning both. Pure and simple. It's all that you noticed in entire post ? Some secondary almost unrelated comment ? Anyway I wll probably buy both too , GalCiv2 already did. But this
I hope non of GalCiv2 developers feels insulted becouse of this . After all MoO and MoO2 created the genre same way as Doom and Wolfshtein 3D created the genre of 3D shooters. And you see , GalCiv1 was released "on the wave" of MoO3 complete failure . So lot of people that waited for "read MoO3" setteled for (hope no one insulted but it's true) GalCiv. It had some unique ideas but no one will argue - graphics was barely tolaratable and a lot of "obiouse" things like a
Fullscreen , 1200x1024 , Logitech MX1000 mouse , Windows XP SP2.
Ewan Finlayson Nobody talking about "copeing things from MoO" we talking about USING IDEAS . (On the other hand I think at least 50% of users here would gladly accept MoO or MoO2 with just newer graphics , some technology additions , better AI a diplomosy + may be some other ideas). moi-meme on your comments : 2) -of couse it shouldn't be main thing but it better be one of the paths if not mine but then on of AI races (in MoO I was alway
