I think it just restores your main configuration to what it was before you installed whatever software caused the problem. However, I ain't the comp genius here, Mr. IPlural or Mr. Yrag could explain it much better than me!

IPlural, could trying to do a system restore/goback with XP without the disk? I had to do that the first time I installed ODesktop, me was way out a my league and the comp let me go back to a date before I did the install. When I reinstalled the stuff, I had learned not to do what I did the first time, so haven't had problem since then!
